arrrghhh, I noticed there was a new rootfs released on 02/24/11; the changelog is as follows:
Quote:

Decouple libs from rootfs, use versions provided in /system.
Is this update very important? Seems like the change was to get rid of redundant libs in rootfs. Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-us; MSM Build/FRX04) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

It doesn't like the data connection from the airave at all. I will try to disable the dsata and see if I can get it to reeboot to wm by itself. That may help to pin point this issue.

I tried replacing them with the Cyanogen dialer *.apks ([MOD] Contacts.apk & Phone.apk w/ 315x315 callerID ( Eclair 2.1, Froyo AOSP, CM )) but no luck either. I thought it would work since that link mentioned that the packages are compatible with Froyo 2.2.1 AOSP, on which FRX04 is based. It's probably not working because the apks are cross-compiled for another processor different than the one on our TP2.

Oh well, I'll stop for now until I get some time to work more on it.

I appreciate the attempt, but don't kill yourself!!

I'm not sure if there is a way to force roaming. Have you tried without your airave? A lot of people have reported issues using the airave - IIRC, the issue was with data only, voice was fine. So perhaps try disabling data when you're around the airave?

I have an airave which is voice/text only and I have an airvana which is voice/text/data, although I had nothing but problems with the airvana so I D/C'd that and went back to the airave without data, so... I'm not sure if that's the issue or not, although it very well may be just causing mass confusion with the radio, since it's not connecting to a cell tower and uses distant locations for weather, etc (always gives a location nowhere near my house, I live in CT but always shows NY or NJ on weather when I'm in range of the airave).

When getting weather via The airave data connection it uses info from the ip server that its hooked up to. Mine gives weather location as nyc but I'm 50miles away in long island when I have the phone set to "use my location". When I go outside out of airave range it gives me my actual reports based on my real location via local cell tower.

Exactly. Are you using an airave which is just voice/text or the airvana which includes data too?

Airaves do voice, text and 1x data.

Yea, that's exactly what it's for. Libs for Gingerbread are now in /system, so no need to have them in the rootfs.

Not mine, I confirmed that with Sprint, the older Airaves only did voice and text no data, or at least that's what I've been told multiple times. The newer ones, Airvana's, do 1x data, but the older versions don't (Again, this is what was explained to me years ago when I got my original one that I'm using now. I have no data in my basement at all but can use voice and get texts like crazy.

I didnt know that the earlier ones didnt do data. I got mine in 2008 (2nd generation)but because of hardware limitations it was only 1x data. The new Airvana devices now support 6 users (up from 3), EVDO, 3G and it even has a VOIP port for future expansion.

I don't remember when I got my original one, but it's different than the current ones with EVDO, etc. I was always told there was no data on the original ones and since I had such horrible service in my house with or without it, I assumed it was true, but don't take my word for it. I'd thinking of hooking up the latest one I've got sitting around but the wife complained about it dropping calls on her when it was connected so i went back to the older one. Either way it's off for the weekend to test this theory, or at least until these people revolt.

Nothing new for Froyo, nothing really new at all just cleanup. Run it if you wish, you won't notice any difference. I guess I should say you shouldn't notice any difference :p.

I just put this on a Sprint TP2. My touch screen does not work however. I think the calibration is wayy off. I downloaded the ts-calibraton file in the first post and added it to the same location as haret but still, not touch screen response. I can use it with the keyboard though and seems really fast. I'd appreciate it if you could help me figure out the touchscreen problem

Maybe you should start from scratch; delete the data.img and try again; before you launch haret.exe just replace the ts-calibrate file with the one in the first post.

just did so. I deleted all the android related files and folders, recopied all the files and watched it go through the installation. Still touch screen is not working :(

ts-calibration should have no file extension. I wasn't able to post a file without an extension, so you have to strip it manually - be careful, by default Windows hides "known" file extensions. So you might have to show file extensions to be able to remote it.

In hindsight, I probably should've made an extension that's not familiar to Windows, but would let me attach it. I also got a suggestion to put the ts-calibration file in the startups folder, which to me would create other problems - I guess if I grab a ts-calib for every phone...

yup, the ts-calibration file does not have an extension. I'm not sure why it's not working :(

Just d/l any other package like one of Ndno's all in ones and grab the ts-calibration file from that. Ndno's are both pretty spot on versus some of the other ones.

Here's one from ndno, hopefully it works ok, just unzip and put in the same folder as haret.

I don't get it, is the ts-calib file I attached to the first post bad...?

Perhaps renaming a .txt file is too much to ask...

he might have saw ts-calibration w/o the file extension of .txt, because windows might have still been hiding it...?

I totally agree. WinMo default File Manager doesn't show the extension (.txt) so he may have "thought" it was already ts-calibration when it was actually ts-calibration.txt. If he had used Total Commander, the extension would show up.

If he hooked it up to the PC and his Windows hides known extensions by default, then it would be the same issue.

lol...it might be when dealing with Windows! :evil4: i use notepad to get around it, after opening the .txt file

1. save as
2. with "ANSI" selected,
3. with quotes around the file name (w/o an extension).

You can replace your attachment with a zip of a ts-calib file that doesn't have the .txt extension, which is what fish did i think.

lol...the days of command line operating systems being common place has been over for a couple of decades. damn, i remember PC-DOS...before M$ stole it & called it MS-DOS. damn i'm old! :evil4:

Hrm. Perhaps I should rethink how to integrate the ts-calib files. I think in the startups folder is a good idea (not mine, thanks mankineko ;)).

I'll probably do that for the next pack. Just need to get ts-calib's for every phone (hopefully some can use the same, I just have to be careful...)

How about people start donating the ts-calib files from their phones then you could have a library of them to include in the next package. I cant help because I have the same phone as yours.

PS, I narrowed down the rebooting issue to the airave at home. Shut it down and haven't had an issue with it since.

yeah, the donating idea sounds like a winner to me...

i've been having some problems getting it to install. When i run Haret.exe, the phone gets to a point where it says: r5: 00000000 r4:00000000.

i've copied over the startup.txt and the ts-calibration, but still no dice. Can anyone help?

If you tap the screen 5 or 6 times does it continue on? If so then it's not seeing your ts-calibration file (didn't rename it to remove the .txt?)

Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX04 - "Stable"

No, it does not continue on. I've renamed the ts-calibration file.

However, before this,

there was an error saying:

FAT:unable to read boot sector

Hmmm...interesting. I really don't think the latest Airave is causing reboots, since I'm not getting them (no reboots for the past 4 days or so). But the older ones? I can't say for sure, since I don't have any now.

Btw, you can call Sprint Retentions and ask them to upgrade yours to the latest. You can adjust the power output online too. Been pretty flawless over here.

How do you restrict the airwave to only allow certain numbers. I saw you can do it online where you can change the power output but I keep getting an error when trying to restrict it or put a zip code in. I am however allowed to change the power settings. Do you have to do anything special to restrict it?

Nothing special. I can change the power settings and add/remove phone numbers, but I couldn't restrict the zip code. Maybe try adding one number at a time?

I've noticed that it is only rebooting when I'm playing wordfeud while connected to the airave. Cant get it to use wifi (which would solve this problem). I try to search for networks and it attempts to scan then says it cant find any.
I looked for the wifi-nvran.txt file but it doesnt exist on my sdcard, should it? i tried to use one i found an edit the mac address but that didnt work either.

No, that file is not on your SD card. Has wifi ever worked? Is your network hidden or secured using WEP?

No offense guys, but there is a lot of airave discussion in here. Perhaps it deserves its own thread (I don't have one...) Thanks!

Never worked for me. My network is open and there are many others that are in my area. It wont even get past the "scanning" animation. Goes for about 5 secs stops then turns off the wifi. Am I supposed to have that file? if so where should it be? I read about the tilt phones putting it in the root of the sd and also in the andboot folder. Wheres yours and should I be using one from a sprint tp2?

np, threads sometimes get OT. I didn't mind it at first, but it really has digressed from general talk about the reboots, to just airaves :p. I'd just appreciate it if you guys created a new thread about airaves, because it honestly needs more attention as far as debugging goes... Some seem to have problems with them, others have none - be good to have a thread where people could discuss what is - or isn't - working for them, to hopefully resolve the issue.

As for the wifi issue, did you just download what was in the first post and go, or did you update it at all? Wifi can get broken if you update the kernel (zImage) and don't update the modules (modules-xxxxxx.tar.gz).

That's the most common pitfall for wifi. Other than that, there is a thread on how you can try to fix it - AFAIK the 210 was the only device effected by the issue. Here's the post on how to fix this issue - it's a little complex, just a heads up ;).
