Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes

I boot up... it works... but I have a tiny virtual keyboard on the top of my screen that does nothing and doesn't go away. I've tried a brief search here and on the FAQ but came up short?

Any ideas or is it bluntly in my face but I'm overseeing it?

Thanks!

pull your SD, erase everything, re install and reboot. sprint on frx06 works great.
I'm getting 92 free mem on SR and 60 after cache (skype, aloqa, latitude and about 10 others)

after first boot, let it go through....don't touch anything for at least 10 min...then, open up everything---take your time (it will take quite a while to open every program)...open market last and let it update (4-5 min)...then DL everything you want and open them...again, take your time.... highly advise anvancedkiller (in android aps---have to dl astro file explorer first)...open every new program you've DL....then SR...TAKE YOUR TIME----THIS TAKES A WHILE.

also, what is your rom you are using and what is your PP??? I find dropping PP to 0 (dynamic)is best....

What?!? No offense, but none of this applies to his problem. You're just using the shotgun effect, which I guess can be useful :p. But not in this case ;).

So there's a startup.txt option - that should be included in all my startup.txt's - which startup.txt are you using?

The option I speak of is
Code:

msmvkeyb_toggle=off

Code:

I reformatted my SD before doing the install, so that shouldn't be the problem

I've looked at my startup file and it does have this:
Code:

msmvkeyb_toggle=off
and it is off.

I assumed that was the code for the vkeyb (virtual keyboard) but it is already set to off so that's throwing me off on why it is still there.

It did this to me on the FRX05 and the 06
I'm using startup for the sprint tp2, the rhod400.

So you're using the startup.txt provided in the bundle?

Did you modify anything or just drop the build on a clean SD?

I'd have to think you changed something, as no one else has reported this issue :p.

Are you overclocking under winmo? That looks like a symptom you're talking about. I did this when I first used android so it just hung with the "taskbar" kb showing. Turn off overclocking under winmo.

Edit: nevermind I misread ur description. Thought you said it hung with the kb showing. My bad.

Yes I am.

The only change I made was adding the command line

rel_path=FRX06

as the whole system lies in that folder.

Other than that, it's been unchanged.

I'm not overclocking under winmo either.

Just running the latest Energy Rom.

So you run haret.exe from the FRX06 folder?

I'm baffled, perhaps you could take a screenshot of the kb? I haven't seen that thing in forever, and that line in your startup.txt should be the only thing that determines it.

Perhaps paste or attach your startup.txt... Honestly that should be the only thing that controls that virtual kb.

lol no need for the screen shot.

You need to put the rel_path statement in between the quotes. All commands go in between those quotes, with one space between each command ;).

Hmm... your rel_path string is not within the double quotes for the set cmdline line. Here's mine if you want to try it:

Quote:

set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmts_calib=0x9f.0x39a.0x35c.0x78 clock_7x00.grp=0xa99 hw3d.force=1 msmvkeyb_toggle=off pmem.extra=1 rel_path=frx06 north_am_dialing=1 force_cdma=1 board-htcrhodium.is_cdma=1 gsensor_axis=2,1,3 pm.sleep_mode=1 physkeyboard=rhod400"
Edit: arrrghhh beat me to it ;)

Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes

Lol I saw that when I was uploading it... I thought to myself "I wonder if that should be in the quotes with all the other commands?"

lmao... anyways let me get that in the quotes and see how it does!

Good thing you didn't need the screenshot my webcam was acting up!

Fixed it!

Thanks guys!

do we have a service.jar file if we have this on our sd card and installed?

i am trying to take out the clock from the notification bar or is there another way of doing it other than editing the service.jar file.

thanks

I think the file name (extracted) needs to be "ts-calibrate" vice "ts-calibration" ?

Nice work once I figured out a couple of "gotchas" !!

This was my first time trying this on my RHOD 500, and I will definitely be back, particularly when BlueTooth is fixed!

4. Download the ts-calibration file from this post (should work for all RHOD/TOPA and probably Blackstone too) and extract the .zip to where you run haret.exe from - typically the root or 'base' folder of the SD card. Not within any folders, unless you run haret.exe from a folder!

**To calibrate manually, you must use an older kernel from GIT (some have to use 1225) and generate the ts-calibration file. Once you have the calibration file hold on to it (make 15 copies if it's a good one :p), reboot & go back to the newest kernel! Thanks**

Wifi is a wpa-supplicant issue methinks. Stine is supposed to try a new one soon to see if there's any difference.

The file name is ts-calibration... Why would you think it's ts-calibrate? What other 'gotchas' do you feel you had to figure out? Obviously there might be some within the system itself, but the install process I try to make as painless as possible.

Been running well. I used my old calibration from FRX05. Has been OCed to 748... next notch 768 hangs for me. WiFi connects but I had problems with downloads... not sure working properly.

A little video to get us over the hump today: YouTube - Android dance, bugged robot on drugs !

LMAO!!! I can just feel our TP2 will run as good as that dancing droid soon! If someone can convert the video to generate bootanimation.zip, this will be awesome when we boot up FRX06!

Dang, my company blocks basically every single file sharing site, but does not block this... Odd.

Well, it's a-going via TP2. I can't even get 3g in my cubicle, but edge will do I guess.

My company does not block any of the normal sites, such as mediafire ad such. I was even able to get all the other system files from the regular locations, but not the system file. My company thinks its a Chat website, or at least out firewall thinks that is what it is.

Up to 3 megs!

Uhm... You did something wrong.

Do you want me to help you or not? Seems like not. Probably not even worth posting complaints if you're not willing to either a) help me improve the build or b) sort out what your issue is...

Need to grab the startup.txt and the ts-calibration, unless you want to create one yourself.

First boot should only take 10 minutes -> any longer, something is wrong.

Alright everything is all good now. Thanks Arrrrrghh.

Button lights aren't enabled on any autobuild kernel, and were literally just enabled on WisTilt2's testing kernel. If you want those lights, you'll have to run that test kernel.

Please, give me some feedback on that kernel if you do decide to run it! Too many people hit-n-run - I have hundreds of downloads but tens of comments...

Is that the build with the working mms (one way) and bluetooth (coming soon)? lol....

Hey, at least you stayed around to get it working. The build in this thread, with one of wist's test kernel is as easy to get going as it can be. For others getting ready to try, start with a clean/empty SD card. This way you will not have any odd issues.

And if someone can't figure out this stuff, that other guy might be back in a few weeks with some other hacked builds for the masses...

Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes

For arrrgh: The best way to help is to just use the latest files and try to find bugs, errors, issues, etc. and then report them here so arrgh can relay them to the devs.

Often a dev will ask for a log of the error. Must can be found via adb. If you want to read all about that, check out these links. It seems really confusing at first, but its not that bad after a bit of reading and practice.

This explains what adb is:
ADB – Easy Tutorial | xda-developers

And this explains many of the common features:

Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes

Well so far with FRX06 and wistilt kernel 3/31 its running on rhod400

Only thing is it sluggish for the first minute if i had to restart the phone.

-wifi tethering works and phone is stable after shutting off wifi tethering.
-wifi with wep also works
-sleeps fine now battery last almost 2 days for me with push email, calendar, and twitter.
-camera works
-no sod or freezes or lockups yet.
-as far as the phone goes everything works except the ring tones it doesn't loop and only rings once (i goggled the fix from xda though)

most apps work, some just open and instant close. have beautiful widget running so hopefully i'll be able to find the service.jar file and take out the battery and time icons.

side comment, i noticed abduction app (the game) is included in the bundle but it doesn't work for me cant tilt the cow left and right. but doodle jump works so i don't know why.

Re: [BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes

Hey, im not sure if the ringtone loop related to the frx06 build. I never noticed the ringtone not looping until i installed frx06. Heres the link to the xda thread that shows you how to make it loop. Im not sure if argghh is aware of this problem but according to the thread you just use a .ogg editor and add android loop code to it.

xda-developers - View Single Post - Fresh Froyo

this is the direct link to the forum that has you the link to the file that is already edited

Issue 2 - vogue-android - Ring tones only ring once - Android for the Vogue msm7500 (also works with some msm7200 series HTC GSM phones) - Google Project Hosting

i know its for a different phone, but i only used audio files that they supply with the loop code.

hope this helps you and/or someone else

Ok - I didnt have any issue with ringtones in FRX06....

I have now jumped ship to the NAND build... impressed at how much faster it seems to run :-)
