Re: NAND Boot Testing - 01-07: Panel power on/off fixes

I'm here and ready if someone gives me a quick run down. I see the mtty thread on page 5, and I can do all this prep work/driver install stuff now, but I have no linux environment set up. If someone wants to hit me up on AIM or IRC, I'll start digging in and see which side of the fence my Rhod400 is on. Is it just using mtty to flash the NBH? I'm guessing all the tinboot requirements and such are already in the NBH?

Edit:

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 01-07: Panel power on/off fixes

Hey Nate, is the first post pretty much the latest "how-to" or has it changed recently? I wasn't sure as I noticed ACL has opened up the new ROM Dev thread, so I thought you are on that full-time, even though it's related to this one. Too lazy to read the 1000+ posts. My friend has a cracked TP2 he's going to lend me (he's not using it) so I'm gonna try this out. I have my own but I use the phone a lot (for voice) so I can't really play around with it a lot. Thanks! You guys are doing a great job!

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 01-07: Panel power on/off fixes

So I'm kinda shooting in the dark here, but as of now, I've got a known working andboot folder with androidupdate.tgz and androidinstall.tgz inside. Then RHODIMG.nbh, gralloc and kbd file on the root of my SD. I had some trouble with the Class 4 SDHC 4gig, but using a classless 1G, I was able to install both ACL's .nhb, and L_miller's nbh images. Both of these just got me to the Touch Pro 2 splash screen without the red spl info even showing up in the bottom left corner. I'd really love to help, but there are so many different ways people have installed android in the past, and without knowing exactly what this is set up for, I'm no use to anyone. Sorry guys. If anyone wants to write up a quick starting guide of required files that worked on a working RHOD, I'll be right here.

Thanks for testing last night Boominsvx! Unfortunately you are one of the unlucky ones who has bad blocks and can not flash this NBH with the new partition layout. I hope to have help with that today from the guys at ppck. For now just hold tight, you have done everything right so far.

Thanks Again!

I have attached a build with my most recent partition table, and of course it works for me.

Give it a try!

EDIT: Wrong NBH... I will up the correct one in a min.

Attached...
I guess my tp2 has some bad blocks too because i just tried the nbh but it hangs on the boot screen like everyone else.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 01-07: Panel power on/off fixes

Hey guys are you running "cat /dev/zero > /dev/mtd/mtd2" before running flash_image? seems that's what alot of people recommend doing when flashing a boot image..

Take a look at this

My Linux Blog - Download and build the Google Android

Looked at install-seq.sh and it seems we don't?

A quick bit of googling shows that this seems to be standard practice for alot of people
