Which version did you use? A quick search on google brings up about 4 right aray at a variety of sites, and I would be interested in looking at them!!

I did a bit more reading, it looks like this is not just a dialer like I thought at first, and I don't want to lose my S2U2 caller functions....oh well !!

Smile Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Here's a quick fix regarding the audio alarm sounding off... (I've done the same on another device and it worked perfectly for me...)

Find the name and location of that particular sound file. Now, record a brief sound file of your own - of less than a second of "white noise"... nothing... and save it with the same name as that of the alarm setting. Now, move the newly created sound file to where the original is and allow it to overwrite the original.

Voila - no more alarming sound...!!!

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

How can I change the default directory that pictures get stored in, and when apps go to find pictures? It current points to "My Pictures" but I want them all stored to an expandable memory card. Some places I can navigate there, but some places just only look at the My Pictures directory. And I can't figure out how to save camera shots there automatically too.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Thanks for the suggestion Image911. I will give it a shot.

>>>In regards to the comment: I'm a little surprised you'd return "an otherwise great phone" over something as inconsequential seeming as the sound that plays when the charge is complete. Is there some particular reason that makes this such an issue?

The reasoning is because I don't care to be woken up to an alarm that goes off in the middle of the night to let me know my phone has been charged and will repeat itself until I acknowledge the notification or unplug the charger.

You have a repeated alarm saying your fully charged? Wow...I have never had that! In fact I don't think I have any alarm. I do have S2U2 installed, that is the only thing I can think of that may change the charging status alerts!! You could put your phone on silent for the night (unless you get calls in the middle of the night of course LOL).

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Rather than returning the phone due to the charged notification, you might consider a program such as PhoneAlarm where you can use a timed profile that turns off the notification volume at night.

Actually, if you use PhoneAlarm... you'll find it also will assign sounds to features you didn't have activated prior to installation.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

@ Image911: About your post #49-once you've answered the phone call (or the outgoing phone call has connected) press and hold the send key (or whatever we're calling the bottom left hardware key) for a few seconds. It'll turn the speakerphone on even with the keylock activated. Works in essentially any WinMo phone. Don't remember where I picked that up, but it works (just tried it). As an aside, I have not had the soft volume problem on mine.

I have had some pretty crummy battery life...may be discussing this with VZW soon - think I may have gotten a bad battery.

Anyway - I'm trying to figure out a fix for the problem mentioned in #23: "When entering a name in either Sms, or email "to" field no names from contacts pop up. In every other WM phone ive had, names automatically pop up as you type. On the Omnia, nothing pops up." Terribly annoying to me also. I can go through the Phonebook program, but I like going straight into Messaging better. Any suggestions?
