Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

QuickGPS rebreaks the gps upon download. Re-re-downloaded the xtra.bin, fixed. I'm using SeaSGEE for now, which isn't breaking my GPS with the file it downloads, and speeds up lock ons.

my first try was without changing the date and after reboot the phone would turn off and then vibration would be constantly on at low vibration... very very very very weird....it's like my phone had a mind of it's own.....
i feel the same. I was recommending diamond to everyone . but not now

I used this and now my GPS in my Alltel brand Touch Pro now works again. It responds a little slower than when the QuickGPS was working but... I'm in Northern Michigan about 20ish miles SE of Traverse City. I just noticed this problem just a day before the time switch. For those that might be wondering, I am using the stock ROM.

Thanks to all for the help.

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

I was just about to do a hard reset on my device when I checked this forum. I am having the exact same problem with my phone. Google Maps either locks it up or restarts it. Sprint Nav works fine, though ????

I'll have to go back through the 10 pages and see what you all did.

your right.

it works now.

before i just copyed the file over, and it kept the same date as the original poster's date.

but you have to use todays date.

so i just used NOTEPAD.EXE and opened the file then save it again,

this re-save caused the CREATION date of the file to be todays date, and now it works.

save to \windows and \temp

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

It is interesting that Palm Treo Pro also has this GPS problem:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93992

So it isn't isolated to just HTC.

We need to wait another week or so to make sure all of the DST data has flushed from the QuickGPS database to test again, but so far it looks like QuickGPS is Dead...

I am surprised about the date of the file being important, but if it work, do it...

Having the same issue. I'm on MightyRom4, Radio 1.11.00F. I'll try re-flashing the radio tonight.

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

I had the same issue with the GPS. I installed the original HTC Rom for the TP http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...at=2&dl_id=683 and then re-installed EnergyROM and it is working perfect. My last QuickGPS update was 23 hrs ago
