I have experienced none of the problems other than the contacts - and what I do is cram everything into the first name field - company name, first/last name. As for the battery - with the usage I give it, 5 hours ain't bad. I do charge between locations. I do not use T9.

Sounds like your freind had a very clear outlook on EXACTLY what he wanted.
I think he should have done a little shopping around and reading up on devices before he just jumped into one.
And by the sounds of it the iphone would suit his needs perfectly.

Although I love my TP's (I have three of them), there is NO WAY I would ever recommend the TP to anyone else.

I tell people all the time that Windows phones are NOT for everybody. The average user that would absolutely LOVE an iphone would never put up with all the tweaks necessary to get a WM phone working correctly......

I can see why this would seem strange....

I recommended that he get it the week that I first bought mine (right when it came out). I had not developed my hatred of the device yet.

I agree with him. I hate this Edit - NinjaMom Touch Pro and wish that I had gone with an Iphone. The TP is slow, freezes, build quality is terrible. I've had 3 of them and on all 3 the chrome starts peeling off after on a few weeks of light use.

The only reason I haven't bought the Iphone is because I can't get one on Sprint.... and ATT doesn't work in my house.... So I'm SOL.

This is honest curiosity, but can the iPhone do all these things? I can see the contact search being annoying (although I know there are apps to fix that) but I personally would hate the GPS automatically assuming it knew where I wanted to go, although I suppose the option to "drive to appointment" would be nice.

As for the rest, I had the touch pro for two weeks and never had those problems. (Returned for outside reasons.) Are they really as common as that? Since I'm considering the TP2 I honestly want opinions.

+1, agreed completely. Tell your friend to become an informed consumer and make his OWN decisions, not rely on a recomendation from a friend, assuming it will be what will work for him.....It's his own fault
