I agree! Although I have been a BIG advocate of iPhone Hating, I do not know one person who uses the iPhone and tries to do anything like us TP users try everyday! Only 2 of my quite a few iPhone friends have actually 'jailbroke' their iPhones, and both had issues. My opinion is that iPhone users want something ready to go! Something they can simply add an app for and not have to do anywork getting that app to wrok. Now I am not saying that our apps are hard work, but sometimes, we have to put a little extra effort in to get our apps to work right. iPhone makes their apps specific for the iPhone only. Just my thoughts...

the battery). Won't start again until you close the app and restart. stop using sprint NAV, try other GPS' available

Several times the phone has frozen up and the touch screen would not
respond...cant get into messages, can't get into contact list. you have way too many stored txt messages and further down u say u have 1700 contacts, so way too many again

Auto backup fails every night (third party app but the best one on the
market) who says itsbest on market? which app? everyone has diff opinions which is best..

every day the phone freezes up in my contact list...multiple times every
single day. I have over 1700 contacts....I have reset my phone at least 5
times already today. you have 5x what most people would consider alot( i have about 400 and thats ALOT to most-1700 is extreme man

using three fully charged new batteries a day...I am on my third battery
today as of 5pm and yes I bought three freaking batteries curse of the VGA screen there.. watch auto updates, send/recive schedules for emails, data connection on when not in use...

T9 text input randomly turns itself on and I have to manually turn it back
to ABC input easily fixed

Facebook and twitter apps suck to the point of being unusable (Facebook app
is the brand new one from Microsoft's upcoming windows mobile 6.5 OS)

if he hasnt upgraded to 6.5 then of course its not gonna work... theres a million and 1 facebook and twitter apps, try more than 1 lol

Oh, LOL I didn't think to offer solutions because I (obviously mistakenly) thought the OP's friend had replaced the TP with an iPhone! I guess I read the thread too fast.

For what it's worth vis a vis battery life, I picked up the official HTC extended battery (I also have the ludicrous 3000mah one, which I hate). It's 1800mah, which actually makes a huge difference for me, and the back doesn't make the phone that much larger. At least to me it's tolerable. I was on the phone for about 1.5 hours yesterday with push mail going all day and periodic checking 2 additional IMAP accounts and at 9pm my battery was 70%. I'm really happy with it (and that's on the stock ROM).
