My friend hates his Sprint Touch Pro and blames me 4 selling him on HTC.

If anyone can offer any help or fixes, I would greatly appreciate it.

times already today.

using three fully charged new batteries a day...I am on my third battery
today as of 5pm and yes I bought three freaking batteries

T9 text input randomly turns itself on and I have to manually turn it back
to ABC input

Facebook and twitter apps suck to the point of being unusable (Facebook app
is the brand new one from Microsoft's upcoming windows mobile 6.5 OS)

Have you referred him to ppcgeeks.com? I'm pretty sure most of those issues can be resolved by searching.

Its funny, as much as I love my WinMo phones, I wouldn't really recommend one to anyone. Prior to the release of the iPhone perhaps, but now everyone is convinced that the iPhone runs so flawlessly and perfect that I know I would not hear the end of it if I recommended WM to someone.

Funny story: my coworker just ditched his sero plan so that he could get an iPhone with AT&T. He is a true apple fanboy and will buy anything they manufacture (BTW, he's gone through 4 faulty imacs, and 3 faulty ipods up to this point). Anyhow, he bought the iPhone thinking it was perfect. He starts showing me the compass and google maps (under the impression iPhone is only phone with googlemaps- very misinformed), and his compass starts wigging out saying west is north and could never get a clear reading or quick GPS lock. Then, the next day he comes in and tells me that his wife had been trying to call him and text him for 30 minutes while waiting in the parking lot to pick him up. He never received a single call or text!

personally, I like the iPhone and would like to add one to my arsenal of phones. I just don't like the way the world is convinced that they don't have their drawbacks and are infinitely better than anything else on the market.

I agree with some of the earlier post, if he has information label correctly in the proper field than he should be able to find his contacts. I do not experience those issues, but I also don't have 1700+ contacts, WTF is the point of having that many contacts anyway?

I agree. I recommend BB's since they are easy to use (even though I'm not a fan and I will never own one).

I just received this message from my friend today relating to the TOuch Pro:

I agree with him. I hate this Edit-NinjaMom Touch Pro and wish that I had gone with an Iphone. The TP is slow, freezes, build quality is terrible. I've had 3 of them and on all 3 the chrome starts peeling off after on a few weeks of light use.

The only reason I haven't bought the Iphone is because I can't get one on Sprint.... and ATT doesn't work in my house.... So I'm SOL.

I just love how many will assume the iphone is best and has minor difficulties. I think in regards to smart phones the best thing about it is the physics behind the scroll engine...I think it is highly accurate and I wish I could get something like that in comparison to wp...

that being said every issue can be addressed with a rom upgrade. the chrome chipping iMHO is the least of his worries in comparison to the software woes... I think personally just update the rom and tell him hey this will kill 90% of the errors...

If you're referring to the iPhone... IMO, the kinetic scrolling engine in WM6.5 is just as good as the one used on the iPhone, and the new Rhodium manila scrolling is also quite impressive (ex: album: sliding through photos, etc)
