What ROM should I choose? Newbie

I love the stock setup of the phone, I just want 6.5.3 with threaded e-mail/preview. That's all I want. I don't care about speed (however, I would like it a tinch faster than stock.) I don't want anything fancy or anything. What would everyone suggest? I tried the reference rom, but I'm having numerous issues with it and I don't like the start menu setup. I actually prefer the HTC start menu. Any suggestions?

I have to agree.
The only other 6.5.x rom I would suggest is sharkie,
as there is constant help there.
But then I have not tried them all (6.5.x).

That's a nice ROM, but there is no threaded email or email preview.

Re: What ROM should I choose? Newbie

I just went to the thread and chose the only 6.5.x rom there was. Is there somewhere else to download?

My LG fathom is the 23121 build and it doesn't have threaded/preview email.

No 6.5.3 SYS has ever had native threaded email in Outlook. Threaded email was only in COM5 or 235xx builds. The 'latest' is 23569 and DaG released 23563 as a rollup, but these are both well over a year old now. COM5 was also the last branch that our phonecanvas, font engine, etc. work without any problems. Most people today are still replacing parts in the new SYS with COM5 parts to make the phone canvas work and have incoming caller id work as it should.

I have no idea if Vin has it in his ROM, but if he does...it's only because he's replaced part of the SYS he is using with parts from a 235xx build. Some of you may benefit from reading this post.

OP, you'll have to find a ROM using COM5 or parts from COM5 for threaded email in Outlook.
