Re: Is sprint deliberately setting TP2 users up void warranty?
yup its just the way that 4it goes. you can try to pick it off and bring it back in, many of the places wont realize there was supposed to be one there anyways... just would go when he isnt in or at a different store.

Re: Is sprint deliberately setting TP2 users up void warranty?
Sprint doesn't design these phones. HTC does. They have a say in certain parts of its design and what software comes pre-installed but otherwise, not really a real design thing on their part.
Granted, the stupidity of the reset hole under the cover is idiotic. But you can get around that by downloading the XDA-Developers application to soft-reset the device. Granted if your device is locked up, you aren't going to use that software. I think it's a matter of design based on what they "assume" the masses want. Not sure if they do a lot of beta testing. I've been involved in hardware beta testing and oftentimes the deadlines are VERY tight and very limited in what the company wants to collect. They have a foregone conclusion and delivery deadlines so by the time beta testers are at it (hardware-wise) it's pretty far into the release schedule time-frame. |

sprint always pays me back for filing an insurance claim so demand you get reimbursed.

Re: Is sprint deliberately setting TP2 users up void warranty?
I agree that this was a stupid friggin design flaw, but Sprint isnt going to gain anything by setting us up like that. I say be persistent, call up , send email to ecare and you will get a replacement without a doubt.

Yup you can take them off..and if they replace it after, what many do is they put tape on top of those things so it does not happen..Ironically I took my phone out in the rain plenty of times and it isn't red lol

If you think about it from a business stand point, they have a lot to gain. They keep Assurion happy as a business partner because this increases the chances of the amount of claims filed each year from TP2 owners. Not only that but, Assurion then gets a phone that they can fix at minimal cost and resell for $100 (deductible). Not to mention, if you don't have the $7 insurance you have to buy another TP2 which is like 3-400 new. ...the messed up part is that I'm out $100 bucks and its not my fault. (guess you can tell im pissed huh?) lol |
