EVO 4G Out of Stock (both Sprint & Asurion?)

I've been a member around here for a while although i haven't posted many times, however this last weekend i found myself in a common situation. I dropped my Evo 4g and somehow the charging port was damaged. I'm now stuck with a first genation evo that i cannot charge unless i pull my battery out and put it into my wife's HTC Hero (what a pain in the ass)....

Since i have the sprint equipment protection i filed a claim with Asurion only to find out that Asurion has NO SPRINT EVO 4G's in stock and couldn't tell me when i could expect a replacement. I quickly went over to the sprint website and also confirmed that Sprint has no EVO 4G's in stock via their online store either.

Initially I didn't panic and just figured I'd get a phone in the 5-7 days that Asurion was quoting however after talking to a Sprint Rep today I am a little more skeptical. Apparently the majority of the HTC Handsets come from oversea's and the natural disaster in Japan has left shipments up in the air.

My question is this... what recourse do i have to get a new phone and at what point does Asurion & Sprint have an obligation to provide me with a different phone if they can't replace my Evo?

i think they have 10 business days to get you an EVO before you can swap for something of the same value like the epic

We both know they are going to first try to get him to take an Optimus S/Transform/Intercept/Zio...

ps if asuran offers those to you say no...

Epic or Evo shift is only things atm worth trading for..

If only the evo 3d was available. That would be awesome. $100 to get into the evo 3d. I would just get the epic. Or check which one sells the highest on ebay, the epic or evo shift. Decide that way instead so if you sell it to get the evo 3d you'll have the most money.

LOOK! Ausrion is for LOST/STOLEN/Water Damage... THATS IT!!!!! if you havent encountered one of these 3 issues, then why are you calling Asurion to begin with... do you like spending $100 for replacements???

TEP gives you Service and Repair also.. which means walk into ANY Sprint STore w/ a service center or any 3rd party reseller w/ a service center and they'll Fix It or Replace It... FOR FREEEEEEE!!!!!!
