Looks like a fully operating ANDROID OS on the TP2 isn't gonna happen anymore...

We've been waiting a long time and with the releases of new android phones, doesn't look like the devs are going to finish xdandroid on the TP2.

you might want to check out the android dev section for the TP2, while its definitely got less developers and probably going to take longer, its still getting its fair share (for being a discontinued device "basically" <-- key word pay attention)

I myself had hoped for full TP2 Android lots sooner, but short of paying a development team (which I cant afford, and unless i would actually turn a profit, wont do), take what you can get... :P

Dunno what you're talking about. XDandroid Froyo gets more complete and more stable every day. And as far as I can see, the TP2 is still the only 5-row Qwerty keyboard worth owning for the foreseeable future.

Care to give up your sources on this info??? I've been seeing multiple daily updates on many different aspects on the port and more and more breakthroughs, making the TP2 stable enough for daily use for many of us. And I'm not sure what the newest releases have to do with the dev's continuing their work on the port. There's been many android phone out there along with Win 7 and I don't see people running towards them. Some have left and others will fill in the gaps, much like normal life... If you don't feel like waiting go grab a native android, but if not and you can't provide where you got your info (specifically from the developers like Highlandsun, Nate, ACL, jonpry, arrrghhh, etc) then just sit back and enjoy the port.

Are you saying this because of your personal angst, or do you have some piece of authoritative knowledge on this topic?

I'm sorry, let me translate for you guys:

"I'm tired of waiting but I have nothing to contribute to the cause so I'm going to take my virtual marbles and go home. However, before I do so I'm going to disparage both the hard work that has already been done and the work that continues to be done because I am not getting anything out of it.

Your's truly,
Poopy pants"

Now, I personally freely admit that I have NOTHING to contribute but thanks and a couple beers to the project. I think it's cool and I run the current build about 40% of the time. I would run it more often but I talk on the phone in the car and need my bluetooth. That's not a complaint, just me dealing with reality so I cope. I also don't trust long term charging in xdandroid so I charge overnight in WinMo...that's just me. It's made a convert out of me and I'll eventually buy an Android phone (oop, I just said that out loud, oh well) which is something I never thought I would admit. Kudos to the DEVs!

I just use a wired headset with the USB dongle. I like them better than bluetooth anyway. Plus the dongle lets you charge at the same time, so my phone is usually plugged in (cigarette lighter -> USB adapter) when I'm in the car.

LOL, you've been thank'd for your wonderful translation.

Also, my TP2 has been running the latest builds 100% of the time for months now and I have had no issues whatsoever leaving my phone on the charger all night every night.
