Yes you can use any icon for the start icon, default icon size for the start menu is 32x32 so keep it this size. I have attached the HTC Logo .ico with the correct size. Please visit my other thread that is a sticky in the forum and look at the first post. You will see how to edit the shellres.192.dll file and install yourself. If you have installed a paticular taskbar you will need to copy the shellres.192.dll to your storage card and transfer it to your PC or use Active Sync to do so. All the instructions can be found in my first post of the other thread. However if you are using my WM 6.5 taskbar below you will find the shellres.192.dll and I have added the HTC Start for you.

i do believe, but i could be wrong, that this ROM is using a diamond base which is shellres.192.dll.0409.mui vs shellres.192.dll (touchpro) even tho they are the same file I believe the cab only installs the shellres.192.dll -so if your running mike's ROM then you should try going into \windows and renaming the shellres.192.dll installed via cab file to shellres.192.dll.0409.mui and soft reset

FYI - did some playing with PE Explorer (started my 30 day free trial) and found that the while the bronzeres.dll does contain the icons for the titanium plugin, it cannot be read using reshacker. Unless i'm missing something it wouldn't allow me to change them !!! where i normally go to change my icons i get

Hey Tsowen... I just realized that the shellres you posted here with the htc logo start menu seems to set the start menu icon to be smaller than it maybe should be (could be my eyes playing tricks on me... but it does seem slightly smaller than my old icon was).
