|
Hi, I missed the Mobitv offer also. can someone pm me a link for download please. Thank you.
|
Hey there! I too missed it and have been looking for this..Please pm mea link for download too.. Please.. Thank you
|
I'm sorry everyone, if you missed the download then you are basically out of luck. The downloads are personalized and sent to the user's e-mail address.
Also, even though the initial price was free, MobiTV is a subscription-based application. So you still need to pay a monthly fee after the trial period ends. Please do not harass other members via PM asking them to send you an application you missed. Thank you. PS. This week's download is Papyrus for Symbian S60. |
i'm at work and cant access the site to see what the free app for today is.... so somebody tell me what is it?
|
Did you read my post? It's right there and just above yours...

Taken from the site
----------------------------- Handango is giving away one (1) high quality, fully-functioning mobile software application for FREE on Fridays! The free app is available from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday only and must be downloaded during that time period. In addition, the promotion features other applications at a 25% discount throughout the week. Just visit http://www.handango.com/FreeAppFriday for details. All you have to do is complete a short survey. Handango will then send you an email with a link so you can download your free app. They are calling the promotion, "Free App Friday." |
what's wrong with the website. Where the app is supposed to be displayed it's blank. Anyone else also experiencing this?

Hopefully I'll remember later on today... |
Free App Friday page is working again
I just did a reload, and it is working. The program is Pocket Informant for Windows Mobile:mrgreen:.
|
I downloaded it a bit ago....how is Pocket Informant? Does anyone have an idea how it works on a 700WX?

I have been doing as much reading on it as I can here at work, I think it looks at least worth installing and trying out for a while, I like to look of the few screenshots I have seen!!
|
That's awesome that Handango is giving us such a great app for free!
I use Pocketbreeze right now but might switch to Pocket Informant. Well this app does require a lot of stylus usage. I'll stick to Pocketbreeze lol. |
Pocket Informant
For those not familiar with it, Pocket Informant was one of the premier third-party PIMs for PocketPCs dating to when PocketPCs were standalone devices, not phones. I used to have PI running on my Ipaq and Axim but had pretty much abandoned it a couple years ago, when the journal-sync (the main reason I got it) was non-functioning for a while. Purely by coincidence, I installed the download from the WebIS site this morning (without seeing this special) and re-tested it out. Seems to be pretty much the same as ever - very customizable, still a great app for those who truly manage their lives using the phone alone. The calendar, contacts, and tasks modules offer significant improvements over pOutlook, and the journalling capability adds something you could only dream of with pOutlook. Journal items are essentially time-stamped notes that you can link to contacts, appointments, and tasks - and you can use the separate Journal Sync app ($15) to sync these to the Journal on your PC. Despite these strengths, I ended up uninstalling for a couple reasons:
1) My work is Exchange-centric; since many of PI's best features are not sync-able to other computers over Exchange they don't add much value for me; 2) I use "show contact" alot in Voice Command, and I haven't found a way to make that work with PI. 3) The PI interfaces, while often beautifully composed, are very dense with relatively small icons. This makes use of the stylus almost mandatory - very difficult when you are driving or walking and trying to get some info in front of you. 4) It's kind of a memory hog. The uninstall didn't go very well, and the phone ended up hanging on the splash screen, resulting in a hard reset. Despite the downside, I still downloaded the app - its a good one, and I'll look for a way to install it as a secondary PIM (just for journalling) on the phone. By the way, Handango shows the list price for PI 2007 as $35, which I think is an exaggeration ; it's $25 direct from WebIS. FWIW, tmb [Edit: Corrected prices] |
Why is that the one app I want is the when I miss that Friday....Murphy's law I guess.
|
I don't know if I did something wrong, when I do the install, all I get is flexmail...is that normal, or am I missing a step somewhere?

Today's free app is Fizz Weather for Windows Smartphones.
late, Coz |
Will that app work on WM Pro?
|
Welp, for once I remember on a Friday to check out Handango and decide to download Fizz Weather, not paying attention to the fact that it's for smartphones. I decided to install anyways and it appears to work... sort of. Of course no touch screen functionality, and it doesn't appear to show up as a plugin option for the Pocket Plus's Today. Otherwise looks like a pretty cool app, if you're a weather geek, which I am. Just wish they would have offerred the ppc version too.

Fizz Weather 2.4 for PPC -FULL-
Quote:
Link and information removed by moderator PS: Serial should work for v2.4, if not, install v2.31, put SN, then install v2.4... Program works great on my TyTN, bit difficult to set up at first, but much better IMHO then all the rest... "HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!!" |
Dexter,
I might be wrong, but your post looks like warez to me. If it is commercial software, you'll need to remove the link. If I'm wrong, then thanks for contributing... |
Decided to give WeatherPanel a try. Pretty good app and free. Love how you can point it to weather and traffic cams specific to your location. Pretty cool to check the last road conditions before leaving the office.
|
cuse94....good choice....if you haven't already, do a quick search of 'WeatherPanel' in this forum, you will find more than enough info to keep you busy for quite a while.
WeatherPanel is the best weather app I have used, and it is the only one I have found that I actually place on my Today screen to show off, and not just for utilitarian purposes (which is how most others look...pure info, no 'style')!!!! |
Syrguy,
I've been all over the place, especially to the following: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=724 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7357 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9606 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=1813 Already edited my radar.txt file with all things NC, Western and Central NY. And you're right, I made my wife check it out, traffic cams and all. Of course she usually humors me with, yeah sweetie that's nice, when I show her most things, but this was the first time she was like, that is really cool! BTW, how's things in Syracuse? I moved away in '95 but still watch all the football (unfortunately) and basketball games. |
I have to admit....I was wondering about the 'cuse' part of your ID!!!!
It sounds like your pretty well schooled in WeatherPanel already then, I swear by that app, and like you I have a female friend that placiates me with my 'techie' ideas, but even she commented on my Today screen (especially the weather) last time I visited. As far as how it is here.....went from about 2 feet of snow to traces and a thunderstorm last night....now we have flooded basements everywhere LOL!!!! It never stops!!!! Have a great Holiday season!!!! |

Sorry!!!

Someone wanted help and I just wanted to help... Technicaly this is NOT warez as it is a non-cracked, fully working Trial-version as can be DL'ed directly from the official site, it only contains an added .txt file with a working SN: for a previous version of the program. Anyway, Sorry again, would'nt want to get banned... A Lovely day to ya all !!! |

Either way it would be a violation of the application user agreement included with the application. |
yes I know I am not important...

The "...not to mention..." -line makes me think you are trying to feel "important" by making me look/feel "BAD" here, and thats not the way friends should treat one another... Anyway, I love you all, have a lovely day... |

EDIT - i read the same post 2x thinking it was 2 different posts, your right, your not a habitual warez poster. Clarification - Due to the fact you attempted to justify your action, it appeared you needed further clarification. If you know the definition as you say, then you should know what you were posting would be considered "Warez" and would result in someone saying something to you. I believe you are sincere, EDIT - i cannot make you feel anything you dont already feel. |
