KMyers 10-06-2007 11:33 PM

The problem is they e-mail a unique registration code, I dont know how legal it is to post them pubically... You can PM Me and I may be able to share

EtherealRemnant 10-06-2007 11:52 PM

WOW. This is something totally unheard of in the software world as far I can remember.

That rocks. It makes me actually want to buy software from Handango instead of hitting up BT for most of it.

KMyers 10-07-2007 02:32 PM

True, It is legit

10/12/07: Mundu IM For Smartphone

Dagger969 10-12-2007 11:24 AM

anyone have any experience with Mundu? I'm gonna get it because it is free, just curious.

stepchild 10-12-2007 01:07 PM

Will it work on a PPC or just a smartphone?

pringlet 10-12-2007 01:35 PM

stepchild,

I just grabbed Mundu from Handango and it's running great on my 6700 with Helmi_c's WM6 ROM. I can't verify other ROMs, but I think it's safe to say give it a shot. It's much more refined than IM+ and seems stable.

Nice app, especially since it's FREE!

non-smartphone users should definitely grab it and try it out.

It works on a PPC, but I have no signal at work. All I can get is Mundu telling me to connect to something. I can poke the retry button with the stylus, so I hope everything functions. I don't know how it reacts to landscape yet though.

EDIT: Here's a PCMag review:

saqer 10-12-2007 03:23 PM

wow...

this is the real deal...I remember tryin IM+ once before but didn't like it's interface (and price) that much. Since then ive been using Windows Live, which ran slow on my device. This Mundu Program takes the gold though. Touchscreen works fine on my 6700 like others have reported. Don't miss this chance! It expires Friday night!

The review by PC Mag of the Windows Mobile version doesn't sound to promising.
Is anyone having a similar experience as that of the author with the WM version?

toviaheli 10-12-2007 04:13 PM

This is a pretty sweet deal :-)

Any luck in getting a signal yet?

pringlet 10-12-2007 06:52 PM

I've been running Mundu for a couple of hours now and had the same problems with the yahoo protocol. While AIM worked fine, yahoo always failed to login successfully.

The last time I exited Mundu, I received an error message "internal error...". I thought nothing of it at the time. I now just soft-reset my phone and am hanging on the Windows Mobile boot screen! I can't say for certain if Mundu is the cause, but the phone was fine this morning.

All I can say is "proceed with caution", and that my earlier post where everything was alright may have been premature.

Thanks for the update.

I haven't installed and probably won't until I here better feedback.

riviera 10-12-2007 07:02 PM

I'm able to log into yahoo just fine, but when i go to chat with someone, instead of letters showing up when i type, the characters show up. This also happens when I go into yahoo go! also, so it's probably not the program's fault.

Yeah, I have not had a whole lot of time to play but I'm not all that impressed. I seems to only want to display on about a quarter of the screen and I'm having some connectivity issues with AIM. I'll keep playing though.

amber815 10-13-2007 02:52 PM

I had to contact support and clearly I was using the wrong version and they sent me the correct one. Yahoo works fine now! yay!

Which version did you have and what do you have now? Also was the one that didn't work D/L from Handango?

Dagger969 10-13-2007 11:19 PM

Could you post the version they gave you? The smartphone version was shareware. I would think the smartphone keys would also work with the PPC version.

stepchild 10-14-2007 12:44 PM

I finally decided to install and try it out. However it didn't work correctly.

What I found out was the one from Handango was only for smartphones. I D/L the ppc version from mundu and it is working just fine. However i can't reg with code from Handango. It says that code is already in use.

How is everyone else doing?

I might have spoke to soon. I can't get Yahoo to login. Gtalk is working just fine.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I don't know why but the PPC version is not advertised until you reach the download page on the Mundu website. It's version even seems more recent then that of the SP. It's GUI is more advanced and now the text box moves up when I use the Soft keyboard unlike the SP version where I couldn't see what I typed. I'm running it flawlessly with no problems at all on my 6700, Yahoo connects just fine, too. I also really like the new mail feature. It shows you what new mail u got including it's subject.

IMPORTANT: make sure to "migrate" licenses before uninstalling the SP version and installing the PPC version, otherwise you'll get that "key is already in use" error.

Dagger969 10-15-2007 09:05 AM

Like Sager said, If you have a PPC get the version from the website and use your existing key. If you have already activated the Smartphone version, then make sure to migrate your license. Then reuse it.

My problem was that I uninstalled the smartphone version before migrating the license. If you did this, you can simply reinstall that version and it will still be activated. Then follow the above instructions.

InvincibleLiving 10-18-2007 08:50 PM

*Reminder* be on the lookout for the newest app tomorrow...

Pibe38 10-18-2007 10:05 PM

Anyone know at what time this gets updated? Should we be on the lookout at midnight? ;)
