Opera Mobile Mini quick launch, default browswer?
For those of you that did not hear, Opera came out with a beta version of their mini browser : http://pocketnow.com/software-1/oper...eek-new-design
I have never used Opera mini before and I tried to add the icon to my SPB mobile shell 3.0 for like 30 mintues. After having no luck finding it I just launched Java and there it was. Is there anyway just to launch the mini browser without launching java first? Also this might be just be the beta but it asks me every time if its ok to connect to the internet when I am browsing on first start up (forgot syntax), any thing to auto ok this one as well? |

Re: Opera Mini Update has arrived.
Very nice.
The Good: -Has a more finger friendly attractive interface. -Dedicated back, forward, refresh, settings buttons (no longer in the menu). -Address bar, and search are always available at the top of the page, but when you scroll down they disappear. It should only scroll the page, and not the menu bar with it. -Address bar has history drop-down. -Has tabbed browsing. You can have a lot more than just 3. -You can select and copy and paste text. Although, it only works within opera mini. There's still no copying and pasting a url into a text message. It's like it uses it's own clipboard separate from windows mobile. The Bad: -Forces you to use it's own SIP. (I have a diamond, and I want to be able to use FingerKeyboard) -Scrolling needs improvement. Has kinetic scrolling, but doesn't work great. No matter how fast you flick your finger, it doesn't go very far. Vertical scrolling doesn't stay lined up, and jumps around horizontally. Not very smooth. You can't use the scrollbar on the right to scroll down quickly anymore. -From what I can tell, you can't sync your bookmarks anymore. -Need a way to jump to the home screen without closing your tab, or opening a new tab. Re: Opera Mini Update has arrived.
Another devout Opera Mini user here...
I'll be sticking to 4... this new version seems too muhc like Opera Mobile. The #1 thing I don't like is when you do finger drag scrolling, it lags and sticks... my FAVORITE part of mini is how easy it is to manipulate large pages. |

Re: Opera Mini Update has arrived.
Anyone able to click on any threads on this site using Mini 5? I click on a forum, and most of the time, it takes me back to the main forum list page. Also, if I manually enter a topic url, it doesn't take me to the topic. I can access other forums, using the same bulletin board software.

Re: Opera Mini Update has arrived.
If you click on the top where it tells you what page your on it scrolls all the way to the top of the page like on the iPhone.

Re: Opera Mini Update has arrived.
Good to know. I had enabled full screen in the settings, which eliminates this top bar. This would be the only reason to not have it in full screen.
