Hi the program installed OK for me but what is the exact hidden SSID that I must type in?

Just make up your own SSID and WEP key and type it in.

I just installed this right now and my laptop found it no problem. I didnt have to type in the network name, only the WEP.

I'm liking this so far, will be very useful in the future.

Few questions, will Sprint charge for usage of this app? Will they know we use it? If they do know, then how?

So is this thing specific to only HTC devices? I'd love to try it on my Omnia.

I doubt that although that is simply an opinion.

WMwifiRouter always took forever to connect with my phone and frankly wasn't very straightfoward for me. I'm sure it had more options but the HTC app is freakin magic. Simple straightforward and does what it is supposed to do. Who can complain about that?

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

Has anyone had any luck using this on the Palm Treo Pro? My friend tried it and my Touch Pro will not pick up the wifi signal from his phone.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

can some one explain what the purpose of this is? if the program turns your phone into a wifi router...what will that really do? If you turn the wifi on, you need a wireless access point to get on the internet. any computer thats able to connect to your phone wirelessly via wifi would be able to connect to the wireless access point the phone would have to connect to anyway to get internet service. So, whats the point of the software. does it activate the 3g data connection from your provider and that the computer that is connecting can access, or is purely just for wifi.....if someone could elaborate please do so.

Yes it accesses your 3g data conn to share it via wifi.
So far so good! I've ditched WiFiRouter since.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

So, again, has anyone gotten this to work on a non-HTC device? Do you need to enable WiFi but not connect to a network?
