Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
I cant get this to work. My laptop isnt seeing the ad-hoc network.
Verizon HTC Touch Pro with custom Windows 6.1 rom Windows XP computer that I can verify will connect to Ad-Hoc networks (I setup a test network on another laptop to verify) I also did a soft reset after the install on my phone. I am unable to scroll down, and it will not turn on the wifi for my phone. Even if I manually turn on wifi and start the program, my laptops still will not see the network. I honestly dont think it is setting up the adhoc network on the phone. Man I would really like to have this working. Any Suggestions

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
Oh god. This is awesome! A free WiFi Router App! Tested on HTC Diamond on Alltel EvDO Rev. A on Da Reeseboy's Generic ROM + Alltel DCD Carrier App. Works great!
1. It automatically enables my WiFi adapter when activated 2. It was dead simple to install and run 3. My laptop connected up to it w/o a hitch 4. It did keep the screen on while running, but I was able to do other things on my phone, as well... Didn't try out calling, though. I have learned to always keep a spare Mini-USB power cord around due to the HTC Diamond's poor battery life. 5. Download=1708kbps Upload=437kbps Thanks!!!! |

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
i been giving this app a workout today comparing it to wmwifirouter that ive been using for a while now. its a very solid app esp. for free. couple things that make it somewhat inferior have been listed however this is the first version so im sure improvements will come.
great to see some goo feedback on this |

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
This is why I always thought wmwifi router, should of been freeware like it was from the start. Like everything HTC Wifi and WMwifi router has it pros/cons, I myself use wmwifi for its flexible features, i can see the purchase of wmwifi router slowing down or maybe discounted in price, but hey for those that need a simple free wifi router you cant beat the price of free...lol....

Works great for me! Only issue I have is I can't get my home wireless router to connect to it.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
Isn't WMWifiRouter 0.91 the free one before they started charging money for it? If so, I thought that it wasn't able to set WEP keys or WPA, etc.

Works great on my TP w/stock rom.
Manual connect required the first time with WEP codes. After that, fully auto.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete
i disagree with this comment to an extent. To me, ticking off one's fanbase/consumers would be a bad thing for HTC to do. They would be better off not developing such a product than to risk alienating their powerusers.
