Yeah, I tried overwriting the dll and it didnt work. Starting from scratch with the cab worked just fine though.

When I uninstalled WP from the program removal in settings it still left a Marsware folder in program files. I just erased it. Usually when I uninstall something I look for the "leftovers" and manually delete what I find. That might have been the cause of some of the people still getting 5 days after installing the new old cab. And I too am now 100% back in business too.

Great. It Is Working. I Deleted The "new" Dll And Place The "old" Dll.

Many thanks to tcbusch & storyr for all their work (green buttons have been clicked ) I uninstalled the "fixed" version and reinstalled the original version and all is well in the world again. Updates look good so far and the 10-day forecast is back. I did delete all the files and settings (including the Marsware folder) - soft reset - then reinstalled the old original CAB and had no problems.

Nothing is permanent, WP is very fragile. It would not take much to break it agian. Its being held together with bailing wire and duct tape. Hopefully the members who are working on the WP replacment can take us to the next level, and in the mean time we still have good old WP to keep us going until then.

Alright, what am I doing wrong here??

I used the new dll & only got 5 days.

At that point, I DL'ed the cab & installed it telling it to keep my settings. Not only did it delete all my settings & traffic cams, it still is only giving me 5 days?????

Life is good again.
I can't believe how much this little phone and these apps make life
more enjoyable.

To my thinking this WP fiasco and the development that was triggered
to rectify the situation, and PPCGeeks in general, has shown me true
collaborative software development realized and not just vaporware
and media propaganda.

I think I may try to get in on the WP development for the PPC phones
to learn some new tricks and maybe eventually have add-ons to this or another
app with features I mentioned in previous posts. woo hoo!

I am so happy again! Just a few days without it and it was so dearly missed! lol
