Ok look at it this way. Your out with ur girls some dude keep asking for your number your unsure about giving it to him cause he acting all thristy you give him your gc# he turns out to be a creep. Umm get on ya account and block him plus he never had your real # that's just one reason for it. Say you have a side business you give out ya gc# and on your off days you put the ppl who call you for business in a work group and have it set to go straight to VM to enjoy your day. Its endless of the things you can do. Lets say you make a call to sprint cause you having a problem over and over this time you recorded the conversation cause you called from your gc# now you have all the rep info # and everything they said if they not noting your account like they should or not giving you a deal they promised you..bam its recorded so there's your proof. They record us sometime we can do the same. Hope this gives you a better understanding of how "useful" this can really be.

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

I really don't see a lot of use for it either.

I have had the same cell # for over 10 years & everybody knows it + I hate talking on the phone anyway.

I have unlimited data & text, I would MUCH rather text, email or IM someone than call them so I really wouldn't know what to do with one of these accounts.

Lol Notastain, I agree it does have it's plusses. As far as recording calls, I do that with my Omnia now, but then again, my voice is almost inaudible no matter what software I use, so I guess I can always use google voice for that. I need to learn how to be able to call out from that number though, I will check out the site

Go to www.google.com/googlevoice and they have mini videos of how each feature works(yes I looked at EVERY LAST VID LAST NIGHT) and the record option is nice. You can even listen to it from your phone via browser cause its in mp3 format,or email it and another option. It recorded both sides of the conversation clear to me all you have to do is press the #4 on the dail pad hope this helps.

Well I hope you sent in an invite with them if not here's the link https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/ and they sending out invites as we speak but its gonna take awhile. Cause they said they sending out invites to ppl who wanted to be with GC 1st than the googlevoice invites!!! So its gonna be a min I'll say 1 to 2 months maybe that's me just guessing really since I know it might be a long list.

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

I've been using Google Voice for a few months now and one of the reasons why I like and se it is because my cell phone number is a long distance number to where I live, and I got a local number from Google Voice so people in my area can call me free of charge.
