Well, StoryR has been working on this and has been getting advice from a user on XDA.
However, it is pretty difficult since he does not have access to the source code. His solution (if I got it right) was to create a blank plugin that would have 5 way nav support but would leech over to the WP plugin to simulate 5-way. So it is being attempted. Whether or not it will actually happen is anyone's guess. |

WeatherPanel doesn't offer this support, but someone has developed a companion software component to do just that. It's called WP-Pilot and allows near-full control over the WeatherPanel plugin. It should be ready in a day or two. Anyone interested in beta testing it? |

I try to be patient, honest! :P
Seriously, those of you that have the know-how have done some amazing things around here. I am very appreciative of the collective knowledge and all the effort that you guys put in. Someday, maybe I will be able to contribute something as well. |

"I don't believe it does anything currently. Possible reasons for having it in the future could be to automatically load the nearest city to your position or for more accurate sunrise/sunset times and moonrise/moonset times. The sun and moon info is something which is common on many gps receivers and is calculated based on your current position and time. It could also be used to update your clock time based on the GPS signal. This is of course assuming that there is any further development on WeatherPanel." I also read that if you turn it on, your updates may stop working... |
