I don't think so...
One feature that I wish we could see along those lines though is looking up a POI through live/google map and mapping to it using tomtom... -mark |

exactly what i was wishing. i was going to even edit my post before i saw urs with that same exact feature wish.
i discovered a program called gps tuner, that allows you to calibrate google earth maps. I don't know if it will allow you to navigate like that, but it's something to look into. I do remember seeing that the Live search on my friend's mogul allowed him to cache maps using more than 32 mb on his storage card. I don't know why mine only allows 2 max, though. |

Re: Live/Google Map Loader?
Any updates on this subject? also I can't seem to get livesearch to cache to storage card. based on the file dates on my card, it hasn't used it for weeks... running 2.17 and have uninstalled/reinstalled live search to no avail

Re: Live/Google Map Loader?
I did notice in google maps, and maps that are downloaded (i.e. any maps you already have in view), are cached, so you don't need to connect to data to download more. However, if you zoom in/out, or scroll to an area not cached, then you'll need the data connection

Re: Live/Google Map Loader?
^^^ hes right. this does actually work onces its cached its good an no need for data unless you zoom or move off what is shown originally. tested on 700WX, 6700 and 6800 only google maps. unsure about live

Re: Live/Google Map Loader?
Also, if you set a trip in google maps while you have a connection the entire trip is saved. You can then go on your trip and you can scroll through the instructions to see distances and where you need to turn. You won't be able to see any actual maps though, just the balloon with instructions.

I wish the road names were always encoded into the map. I hate having to zoom into "street" level. it should always show the road names of the route, and/or let you touch a road and have a popup name. arg.... so annoying all the gps stuff has been (using since tt4, ipaq) while I'm gps complaining, why do they offer routes to avoid highways, but not hwy mandatory? If I had a dollar for every b-road I've gotten stuck on, well I could pay for a tow... |
