Re: Question: how do you install apps that don't have a *.cab
If it's not a .cab, then it's an .exe file. In this case, you need to connect your PPC to your PC via ActiveSync/WMDC and and run the .exe file. It will then install to your device

GeekCop is right, thats the only way I have found to install these types of files...I don't really like having to rely on Active Sync, but, untill we find an onboard installer for these files, I think we're stuck lol

Re: Question: how do you install apps that don't have a *.cab
Run the exe on your computer,
and then you can go to c:\Program Files\Microsoft Activesync\ on your computer and retrieve the cab from there.

Ok, I didn't explain well enouph last time. When you have a app you have downloaded and it comes with a setup.xml file. what do you do with that?

Re: Question: how do you install apps that don't have a *.cab
you probably downloaded an "OEM" or files in a cab, and the setup.xml is read during install, so basically all the files need to be together.
Without anymore info, it's anyones guess. I would go to where U got it and find out what it is supposed to be(cab or OEM or installer). If there is an install exe, tap it and see what happens, but keep tham all in one folder. Last edited by Maxx134; 06-09-2009 at 01:58 PM. |
