Na man, my phone service was just accidentally knocked out today as well as data. It will still run the GPS. You just wont be able to upload your workout or look at the map while on the run. But once you get home you can do what you suggest and use WiFi to upload.

Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application

Tried sportypal today for my dog/ bike/walk. Pretty cool! I had tried it yesterday for a waterfall hike but hadn't ever initialized it and registered and unfortunately the trailhead had no cell signal so app wouldn't initialize. I think this was a first use issue and I think it will work fine for GPS tracking in no cell areas and I'll just upload when back in cell range. Just thought people should know to register first time in cell range. Seems like a great app! I will definitely use it a bunch. I really like that it has altitude tracking. Hope they'll add a ski mode or 2 (one for lift assisted, one for cross country)!

Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application

Now they made this small link button that I just pressed "EMBED" and I realised that is for embeding the map of your workout, so you can put it on your blog or to the web page, nice stuff =D>

Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application

I just got back from a run/walk cardio workout. About a mile from my house my shin splints were KILLING me, but I wanted to keep going so I could log my mileage on sportypal.

The data for the "run" is there... but I can't click on graph or map on my phone and it will not upload. Just says it has encountered a problem and it kills the program. How am I gonna get it on the net now?? Any ideas?
