Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application
Yes I know that there is always some error with the accuracy, but still trying it out on the same track on the same location it gives similar results. Not that bad i would say.

Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application
Most of your variation is due to the fact that you were slower one day than the other! I had similar results when I used the function and saw the difference in the time as the cause. I also had altitude variations I couldn't explain though. Comparing routes should probably use location as a primary criteria and time secondary, but that is an extremely complex comparison to perform I would think.
On another note, they just released version 1.0.7 for winmo!

SportyPal ver. 1.1.1
A new update is now online for Windows Mobile users. This update allows you to share your workouts on Twitter and Facebook without having to visit the website.
Here’s what is changed in the new version: ![]() The sharing screen Added Twitter and Facebook integration. If you choose to upload your workout when it’s completed, you’ll be taken to the “Share” screen where you have the option of checking “Facebook” and/or “Twitter” and pushing the left button to post a link. If you don’t want to share them immediately, you can access this screen using the “Options” menu while viewing your workout data. For Twitter, you’ll need to provide your Twitter username and password at the share screen. You can check “Remember me” to avoid having to enter them again. You can also enter your own text, where “[link]” will be replaced with the link to your workout on SportyPal.com. You don’t have to enter anything for Facebook, but you do need to connect your SportyPal account to your Facebook account before posting. This post contains instructions on doing this. The “Upload” button in your workout details no longer goes away after you upload, which means that you no longer have to use the rather awkward re-uploading method from previous versions. ![]() SportyPal should now notify you after uploading a workout if a newer version is available. The workout’s starting time is now used as the official workout time (used to be the end time). Fixed the NullReferenceException upload bug. You should be able to upload all of your workouts now. If not… Drastically reduced memory usage. This should put an end to the memory issues that high-res device users have been experiencing. Fixed a bug in native GPS mode which would cause it to register failure even when it shouldn’t. This made it impossible for some users to use native mode. Fixed a crash in the workout details screen that occurred when you scrolled through both free-style and non-free-style workouts using the d-pad. The proxy bug should be gone for good now. The d-pad buttons on landscape-screen Windows Mobile Standard devices are no longer mixed up when selecting a button from the status bar. Added some bits to help keep the GPS chip online in case the device goes to sleep or the user presses the power button. The tracking map now centers itself during the workout. Fixed a (very rare) scenario that would cause the user’s e-mail address to be rejected during registration due to a null-terminating character being added at the end of every text box. Fixed a scenario that would cause all uploads by a device to be rejected due to the device’s (or the device manufacturer’s) name containing illegal characters. Added automatic language recognition for Czech. http://sportypal.com/Downloads/winmo/SportyPal.CAB

Re: SportyPal - GPS tracking application
Some new options added, as well as a new user interface.
http://www.sportypal.com Windows Mobile SportyPal 1.2.3 A new update is now online for Windows Mobile users, fixing several issues present in the previous versions. Here’s a list of changes made in the new version: The “Turn display off during workout” option now works properly and doesn’t force your display to turn off when it isn’t enabled. Registration results should make a lot more sense now (now more wrong password messages if you didn’t enter the wrong password). Windows Mobile Standard users can now view and use the sharing screen again. Removed the autopause option since it didn’t seem to do much and it was nothing but trouble. Reduced overall memory usage. SportyPal will no longer crash if it encounters a write error during upload (upload will still fail, though). Checkpoints are no longer placed automatically at the beginning and end of a pause section, leading to a NaN value during analysis on the website. Improved error logging to help us find several bugs that users have reported but that we can’t reproduce. Also fixed a potential crash during error logging (the application would have already crashed at that point, but it would’ve prevented the log from being saved). Altitude detection has been improved. Since we suspect that, according to user data, altitude detection may be causing altitude during a workout to “skip” (jump between invalid and valid values), we’ve also added an option to turn it off. Added several improvements in reading workouts from memory. Workouts that do not contain any coordinates will now be removed when you attempt to access them. This will most likely cause SportyPal to crash (gracefully), but then again, you shouldn’t have been able to save that kind of workout anyway. At least it’ll keep the empty workout from causing any more trouble. Implicitly invalid coordinates (all zeroes or out of the map) should no longer bog down a workout as long as you’re receiving something that looks valid, no matter how bad your signal is. Upload confirmation show up properly now, along with a notification for the new version. http://sportypal.com/Download#platform=WinMo |
