Thanks Colonel!

That did the trick.

I ran into problems with removing HH_files in rom 1.01 so I updated to 1.03 but discovered the time issue.

I am now on 1.02 adding the 6 tabbed OEM in with the rom along with your .dll.

All works great now including only 4 tabs for the Plug-in.

tvith, just make sure you copied all 4 files into \Windows

BTW, there should be an easier cab install coming soon.

Quick note

When I was using rom 1.01 and the 6 tab plug in. The clock was not displayed at the top. Instead a battery meter.

This I like.

Once updated to 1.02 it is back to the clock.

Any way to fix this?

I've been working on adding support for the Home Plugin from this thread in my customizer. I've made the necessary changes for everything to work when you're "easier cab" gets here.

My only question is, are you or anyone else working on getting N2A's weather patch into the dll? That's the only part that won't work unless I throw in some hacks.

clock

The way I cured the upper clock problem was to change it to analog. Its really to small to tell time on anyway.

emunutz,

I think hacking the dll for weather isn't the best option. The Pocket Hosts method is better because if that server ever goes down, it's a lot easier to change that than re-hexedit a dll.

The good thing about the pocket hosts method is that you don't need pocket hosts to do it. All that app does is give you an easy UI to add a reg entry. I already put that reg entry in the last kitchen by default, and it can very easily be added to a cab file.

I'm not sure why the people at xda didn't think of that, but this is all you need to add:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip\Hosts\htc.accuweathe r.com]
"ipaddr"=hex:40,3e,9e,6c

Voila! No hacking or anything else needed. If that server goes down at some point all people would need to do is change that reg entry.

Well, we are kinda torn on this issue. I know what N2A did as far as editing the dll with a new URL. However, if his server goes down, you would have to install a new dll to get weather working. On the other hand, if you are using the pocket hosts method, you could change the IP. This is also easier in case someone else wants to host on a server. So, for now, I think we will stick with the pocket hosts method. BTW, here is all you have to do...

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip\Hosts\htc.accuweather.com]
"ipaddr"=hex:40,3e,9e,6c
Just have your app add that reg entry. I believe that is all that is necessary as that is how the OEM in the kitchen is setup.

Already had the hosts entry in there, but thanks for putting the info up here luv2chill & colonel. What I did is when you choose Custom for the database type, it applies the reg key, and when Default is selected, it's removed. In fact, I have everything working the way you have it now (cab + 4 files being copied), just trying to get a feel for which way you guys were going with cab.

EDIT: You both bring up a very good point about the server going down (Why didn't I think about that?). So good, I'll probably go back to the cab w/o the hack for the main app.
