Re: [11-5-09] Android for CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800 and Diamond) Ported!!!

No Hero. I found a decent ROM that I think I can live with for the time on the Pro, so I think I can wait. Plus, US Cellular, SUPPOSEDLY has an android phone scheduled for next year.

I just like to tinker anyway, so putting android on this seems fun and useful to me.

Do you have everything placed in the right folders? haret, the log file, startup, zimage, and initrd.gz. RootFS.img and System.img can stay in the storage card.

Also, if it's your first time booting, give it time. it extracts that system.img file and makes a data.img

Re: [11-12-09] Android for CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800 and Diamond) Ported!!!

Hi agentmikeyd,

It is not that simple, the newer versions don't work yet on a CDMA Touch Pro... I've got a version from October running fine on mine (of course with no data or voice connection).
Follow this thread on Connect-UTB: http://www.htc-android.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=320 it explains how to install and use Android on a RAPH800.
You can get a newer zImage working for RAPH800 here:
http://www.bertramland.com/htclinux/files/
This OS looks really nice and I would love to be able to have the cell phone radio working with it!
I will post something on my blog about it later this month or early next month.

Re: [11-12-09] Android for CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800 and Diamond) Ported!!!

OK the best start up text for all cdma devices (touch pro/diamond) is

Quote:
set mtype 2039
set kernel zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
set ramsize 0x6000000
set ramaddr 0x10000000
set cmdline "root=/dev/ram0 init=/ console=tty0 mem=76M msmsdcc_id=3 zmgdevname=/dev/mmcblk0p1 imgdevnum=1 imgdir=/ msmts_calib=0x81.0x393.0x358.0x7D clock-7x00.a11=500 msmvkeyb_toggle=off mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480 lcd.density=240"
boot
this give the screen a more oem look.

Second look for the newest images from here http://glemsom.anapnea.net/android/diamond/

use the diamond images for BOTH diamond and touch pro as the raph images from that site oddly only boot on raph100's... not sure why

third use the newest package you can find like the one from connect-utb.com http://connect-utb.com/index.php?opt...=3:htc-raphael

so for cdma touch pros and diamonds use diamond images for packages use device specific for both raph800 and raph590 use the above startup hope this helps some im currently trying to extract cdma android from the sprint hero and the vzw droid dont have much time lately but eventuallly will get a free day to play.

Works okay on the VZW Touch Pro ... adjusted resolution, screen flickers in and out of brightness ..screen calibration application is flaky like a bunch of other things.. but it loads! Will try out more things and post up, and we can get this goin!!

I tried the above, but still cant get it loaded on mY Sprint Diamond. Perhaps someone with a CDMA Diamond could upload their package which works...

Thanks
