Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Ok Apache users, good news! The 23071 post has been updated with some SYS_23071_Common files that work! It's funny how a mistake (forgetting to recmod the common files) can end up blindly finding the cause of something else.

Anyhow, thanks to dennygun for helping me test and narrow down the the list of modules causing the issue. See the original post for the rest of the notes regarding this.

I was not having any issues with 23071 on my 6800 using the common files (timestamp 10/16/09 8:23 AM CST).
Should I recook with the new common?

EDIT:
OK I just read the post.
I will keep the new Common on hand for when I build for the Apache.
I would have to just switch the common files in the kitchen folder when I build for either one.

Yeah, I would. But, it's up to you.

Edit: Just saw the timestamp. It is only advised to recook IF you used the ones from the other day. So yeah, no need for you to recook.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Thanks.
Any word on some color for the taskbar icons with the newer com builds?
I looked into tsowen & Vin,s TB3 for QVGA, but they all seem to be set for the older com.
I was hoping for an OEM that I could just place into the PPCK USER_OEM folder.

I have one I can make for you for 192DPI/VGA, but not 96DPI/QVGA. You can, however, look at the ones I give you to figure out what needs done to QVGA. Up to you, just let me know.

If it requires more then unrar, compare, edit pixels, rerar, then I would be pretty much lost with the process.
I will take a look at it tho.
Please post them.

Thanks.

It will require a copy of Restorator and manually exporting the icons from the QVGA dll's and importing/overwriting into the newer dll, also figuring out WHERE they go since MS changed a lot around.

I think that is about $20K above my paygrade.
I think I will keep looking for a cab file.
Or just live with it.
Thanks any how.

If you could post what you have I would love to take a look. I have edited some other peoples QVGA taskbar icons from older builds of 6.5 with the newer resources (for my own use...) VGA gets all the love for obvious reasons... and the only people left who make QVGA taskbar icons don't always stay up to date with the latest roms. So far I have noticed shellres.96.dll, outres.96.dll, and notify.dll.0409.mui have changed several times since 2305*. It is defiantly a time consuming process, especially if you want QVGA from VGA. And a lot of the time the icons just don't look after you re-size them.
