I've been using 21234 for a month now and it's been rock solid on my Fuze.
The 219xx is not very usable in my opinion. Some menu items just can't be gotten to due to UI experimentation. But, the newer 230xx builds have some additional UI changes that make the OS more finger friendly that I think are worth it. So far, the 23009 seems to be vary stable for me too (memory leaks seemed to have gone down some, and I don't have all the weird moments where things totally stop responding for a minute like I was having).

The only downside to 230xx is the changes in gwes.exe made in 23003 and up that cause highlighted items to display garbage in some programs (i.e. Total Commander and dotFred Task Manfer are 2 that I use that have the issue). You can use an older version (i.e. 23001) for now, but what;s the point? gwes.exe is known for leaking RAM so using an older one won't get you any benefits that may be in a newer one. It could also bring some instability down the road and eventually may not even work all together. But, that's just my opinion as well.

Not really, sorry. But have you tried using dotFred Task Manager or something and manually running epst.exe /diag?

Hello,

I don't know if this solution was told before.

Startmenu problem, it can be easily solved by using working shell32.exe. ( From 23008 would be better ).

No need to edit cpr files. I got it working 100% and I'm sure you all will get it working.

Best Regards

Good find, I haven't seen it posted yet, but as in my theory for why gwes.exe should not be replaced neither should shell32. I tried an older 21725 gwes.exe and shell32.exe (at different times) on a 218xx build, WinMo wouln't load the shell at all. These are probably only good as temporary fixes, but in the long run won't last. MS is doing quite a bit of work in these areas for the 6.5.1 release, I say roll with the punches. That's what we get for living on the bleeding edge.

The only one I DON'T get is the compime.dll opera problem, I still use a compime.dll from 21731.

Ya, Compime.dll and its new password character system seems a bit odd to me too. I dont understand what good the new method do, apart from breaking older apps

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

just a quick thanks to all of you for making 6.5 releases to the chefs so we can enjoy them! I wouldn't go back to 6.1 for anything. I'd thank all of you, and I've thanked some of you before (wayy back in 21202?) but...THANKS

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

This is my first posting.

WM6.5 23009-21928 hybrid for that would try. I only try in the emulator. gwes.exe from 21921.

Sorry for my bad english.
