Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Guys, do we have any more sources of WM6.5 build 21502 SYS please? I only have one that was posted in this forum and can't get it to boot on my i780.. 21222 works flawless though, but I was hoping MS might have solved the mouse pointer graphics bug in 21502.

Relating to the mouse pointer bug - as some of you may know, the i780 has an optical joystick (mouse pad). However, when scrolling windows, startmenu or moving chrome tabs (not only..), the mouse pointer leaves a distorted image atop the current image. Would anyone have any idea how to fix this please? (except disabling the mouse and changing the mouse pointer BMP files, of which the latter does not help).

Thanks in advance!

Can you tell me what's your build, device and country?

I have a Love (With Artemis drivers), with build 21222 and from Portugal.

Cheers

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

inertiax3: do you know if the program that draws the cursor on screen uses GAPI to do it?

Microsoft is phasing out GAPI for 6.5 release (all interal builds have GAPI forced disabled to encourage re-coding of apps that use it) - also no app will be able to get a "Certified for Windows Mobile 6.5" logo if it renders in GAPI.

Hmm.. thanks for the info Da_G. I don't really know which OEM EXE/DLL is responsible for the cursor drawing. Removing the most obvious files such as fingermouse.exe or mouse.dll - even if removed and the ROM re-cooked, the cursor still loads up (albeit it doesent move since the dll for the optical joystick is not loaded up). It might be called in the XIP..

I suppose there is no workaround to enable GAPI in WM65, is there? I am afraid Samsung might not release an update for the i780 - the only hope would then be the Omnia
