Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

well i have a question..
using the 21189 sys, the "move to top" doesn't show up as the new style where the background gets black and a white box pops up like in conflipper's picture.
it worked for me with jakdillard's 21176 rom but it won't work when i use the 21176 or 21189 sys and xip to build a rom..
i know on earlier ones changing the theme would break it but i haven't changed themes and it won't show up for any menu..
was it included in those sys folders or is something i'm doing messing it up? :???:

i just used the one posted a page ago and did about 1000 different things until i got an os.nb.payload that worked..
it may not even be 21189 but as far as i know it's close enough lol..
here's the payload i'm using..if someone could tell me if i did it right or where i may have messed up that would be cool

XipporterEx is one of ervius's tools included in his kitchen. After you have manually ported the xip to your device or used xipporterex to do so use the write it to insert the xip into os.nb.payload. To use the tool place your devices nk.fat/os.nb.payload named os.nb.payload into the mytools/os.nb.payload folder. Place the new xip you wish to port (source from another device) into mytools/new_xip folder. Run tool and click extract xip from payload. Check the options you want and press port it and the ported xip for your device will be in xip_new_ported folder. The press find xip start offset and then write it. If you are using a preported xip to insert place in into the xip_new_ported folder named either xip.bin or xip_out.bin depending on what version of his tool you have then do the write. The payload inthe os.nb.payload folder will have your new xip in it and then you place in the ROM folder in kitchen. NOTE: This is not how its inserted using PPCth Kitchen as the xip.bin will be in the device core and it needs the .txt line in device base.txt

I was wondering, which version of XipPorterEx are you using? Which version is the latest? I believe build 37?

I use v35 as V37 would show the build in settings about from the old_xip (the source xip from your device)

V35 is here : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ius#post736297

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Thank you Conflipper for posting the sys. I got a hold of Da_G's kitchen for fuze and was able to port working rom and boy, what an improvement! I have been playing with 21189 on Sprint Diamond and it works way better than before. I think it actually is usable now. One thing I don't like about the new one is the removal of clock in the titanium. It would been a lot nicer if there is a way to add it back in. Anyone know how to add it back?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

you could just use an old version for now...

hansk75 03-16-2009 12:24 AM

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

If I have to choose between clock from 21176 and the speed improvement brought by 21189, I choose the speed :D I guess I have to keep searching for the solution.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

yeah, showaco over on da_g's xda thread was working on it with no success, clock is missing from the dll altogether... so for now there is nothing, but I tried some old versions, and they run faster on this sys

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

xwhen i use xipporterex i dump the xip.bin from payload, then try to insert the new one and an error comes up about the xip.bin the the old folder

Easiest way for everybody, go to your system folder, open bronze subfolder, there you will find a file named bronzeress.dll, replace with bronzeress.dll from *79 or *69. Greloc, cook, and you have your icon back the way you have always loved it.

After port 21189 to Trinity , all seems work fine , but can't install other SIP , after install by cab , noway to change to , also a lot of 3rt parties soft don't work .
May be 21176 is better for old device like Trinity .

You seem to have the same problem as me. I replaced the 0804 folders with 0409, and now I don't have the Chome anymore.. just the regular today screen. Clicking on the Start menu doesn't work as the menu does not come either. I haven't looked into this further as I am a bit busy right now, but will report back if I find a solution.

don't replace the 0804 folder for chome instead use the 0409 registry and it should work

Can someone post the 21189 0804 QVGA resources only ( do not need the rest). The link for original is broken.

JD you are the man your versions always work so good for me but yet leave me enough room to customize thanks whole heartly. will give you feedback for improvement.

There was a PNG folder zip file I downloaded with mobile black in it and the glass with water wallpaper and a greenish backround that works good on restoring new menus snd seems stable with them installed too.

I can't tell if the one Conflipper posted is in Chinese or English but the one from Da_G at xda is in English. I think Confipper one is in English also but I haven't used it. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...74406&page=183

You can port over xip and sys and make it work for CDMA. I use it that way.

Okay I notice that the 21169 xip offers more ram and has better memory management than either *76 or *89. At least for the titan when you look under "settings" and "about" you have 47.55mb as against 47.17 from *76 and *89. I have tested and seen that *69 xip works with all the builds, for titan any marginal increase in ram is a welcome development.
Other device owners could also check and see if they experience such differential.

Alright because of the challenge of knowing what to do with the xip.bin often posted, I have made them into boot rgu and os.nb.payload file for the titan i.e. the xip for *69 and *89 builds, test which one gives you more memory efficiency. Enjoy and give me feedback.

Oh I might as well just add xip for 21176 build to complete the package and somebody might just need it. So I will post that later today.

I couldn't post this earlier due to my baby daughter's need :)

I don't know if this will work or not so use it with caution: this hasn't been tested since I do not have TP. I have used xipporterex v32 / 21189xip posted earlier by Conflipper and Calkulins TP 21139 payload to port it over. Let me know if it works.

Also Xipporterex V32 is in Calkulins kitchen and I use tools from that kitchen to port xip and create rom folder for my device. You can try excellent kitchen created by Calkulins to create ROM and that is what I recommend instead of using the one I am posting. If you need instruction, I can put together short instruction on how to use his kitchen to create ROM folder. Hope this helps :)

Sorry.. wrong attachment. Try this one.
