WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
 

I am posting this in hopes that we can work has a community and get a lot of these problems fixed. I figured if we have one centeral source where we are getting the files it would help. This will be a lot of work on your own, I am not gonna be able to keep up with any errors you might have. By building with these Kitchens, you assume full responablilty for anything that might happen. I will do my best to provide suppourt, but I might not always be around.

So we have work to do, Fix animations, and Fix VGA camera. Has a community i think we can do this.

Things that are fixed at this time.

Office is fixed
PIE8 is fixed
Media OS is fixed
ProXML are running

There might be some duplicate files, I am sorry about that, It has been a long day. I left this for an open community project, so we will have to see where this leads. and work together on this.

I am using Calcu Kitchen base, so all thanks goes to him for providing that. it is his kitchen, and his OEM, so everyone head over to his thread in the Diamond or Touch Pro section and give him thanks.

You need to Add your XIP for a diamond or Touch Pro to the ROM folder. here is a link for the XIP for diamond and Touch pro.

Please note that on the VGA systems the camera is still broke, we are working on a fix for that at this time. but we have been unable to come up with anything.

Also Animations are broke at this time.


QVGA Kitchen are seperated out one for the Vouge, one for the Titan.

The camera is fixed on both of these, it seems like the only thing that is broke is the animations and the lock feature, so do not lock your phone. at this time.

hopefully I can be of some help. Most of my experience is in flashing but I dont have anything to lose because i work @ a sprint store.

I was getting the error
Cannot create "c:\Doucuments and Setting\Blah Blah\Desktop\6.5 Beta ROM Kitchen\temp\dump\flashresource.dll/0409.mui" because a file or directory with the same name already exists.

but deleting those files seems to have fixed that

I drilled down and found all the issues with the sys and duplicates. Con, if you want I will upload the modified sys, let me know. New version of IE is quite buggy. =)

Ok here is the modified SYS for VGA Devices

Also you will need to do the following if you want IE8 to work.

Here is the fix for IE8. After downloading the SYS which is fixed for messaging, download the rar below and then overwrite the existing folders in the SYS. Then when you run build os you will see the option for IE8. Select it and reflash, you will have working IE8.

I tried it on my Sprint Diamond and the issues I see are.
Can't open PIE
Can't opem mail.
When phone goes to sleep I have to hard reset.
Was unable to read my internal storage.

Whats the difference between 6.1 and 6.5?

Well, all works just fine for me except for one issue. MicroSD encryption is in full effect, and if you wipe your phone, kiss your MicroSD content goodby! LOL

Yes this does not have any of what you are talking about. It is based on the only leaked files available and is from an early alpha build which does not have that ui.

holy crap has anybody played with the scrolling and the touch screen because i can have a finger on the screen and still scroll with another its not extremely useful because it only simi works but could this mean that there planing on implementing multi touch in 6.5. unhonestly play with its kinda fun it even works with manila hold one finger on the home icon and then use another to slide across the top and it scrolls throw the tabs

anyone wanna help a newb? im tech savvy but never have flashed a custom rom b4 and in all honesty im super lost

it seems the instructions in the titan kitchen arent right...there is no PrepIt.bat script

or im just having a retard moment...

either way could someone PM me and help me out a bit

I would agree with the other poster...
This 6.5 stuff is brand new...I would check out some of the other upgrade threads and get comfortable flashing before diving into 6.5.

ive flashed reg roms b4, ive flashed roms from memory cards (stock roms)

the computer im typing on right now i just made from scratch...im not a complete idiot...its something ive never done b4...and if i sit here and tinker with it for awhile i will eventually figure it out....BUT since ive heard great things about this forum from other people i thought id swallow my pride a bit and ask some questions....obviously i was wrong...

It says this is Sprint only. I am on the mogul.....do you think DCD's Verizon Carrier cab would let me use this on Verizon?

The Files are all there. Click on Build-OS and select the files you want to use, the programs, It will install manila on its own, I need to go and edit that kitchen some more, I will do that once i get more time.

After Build-Os is done, then click on Build-nb, This will load up a command window and run through a lot of stuff, once it is all done, it will load up a Rom Update Utility. Plug your phone in and then flash.

Make sure your phone is unlocked before trying to do any of this. that is very important.

yeah, it should work, if you use carrier cabs, just do not let the Customization to run. I am working now on getting an Alltel and Verizon up there has well, I am running short on time at the moment though.

I am working on getting some of the issues with the SYS right now, You can try using DCD carrier cab for alltel has well, it should work, then startup screen will be sprint, but aside from that it should work fine.
