yeah, tf3d works fine, but I am finding I like the sliding panels better, gonna keep playing with them and see if that is still the case after a couple days

Con, what oem packages did you use so you can open up your email and read it? I flashed many times and could view the inbox emails from exchange or gmail but if I went to open them the screen would flicker and then go back to the inbox.

Also for IE8 I found out how to pin the shortcut to the honeycomb but the fix I have breaks the weather widget.

Cheers,

Mikee

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

alright, i feel like a complete newb here... not sure what i'm doing wrong, but i can't seem to get a ROM that will boot. each time i get stuck @ the boot screen displaying the 1.32 ROM version...

tried swapping the os.nb.payload from the ones posted in the VGA_xip.zip w/o luck...

can't really focus on it since i'm at work, but i've never had this much trouble w/a kitchen.

any reason for there only being a touchpro os.nb.payload.zip in the \mytools\os.nb.payload folder? should i pull a diamond os.nb.payload from calku's kitchen?

[i used the kitchen from the 1st post, the modified SYS that was posted w/working IE8, and tried swapping the os.nb.payload in the ROM folder, as well as multiple combinations of attempted XIP ports] Is the ROM folder in the posted kitchen from a Pro? TIA!

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

For the SMS/MMS, try this option. It's something they are working on over at XDA-Developers. This has worked to fix the MMS on all of the ROMS I have flashed since I found it (20+). Pick the one for your carrier at the bottom of the first post. Feel free to comment on any of the pro's and con's relating to the CABs over on that thread.

Remember to ensure that you do not select any Arcsoft option in your BuildOS when you cook your ROM. When this CAB is installed, it writes all your Registry entries including your individual MSID, that's why cooking it into the ROM doesn't work (Unless you enjoy making pointless RegEdits:thumbleft: )

Be sure to tell GC14 thanks while you're over there. Here's the link. Let me know if this fixes the email too, because I have a feeling it might.

If you don't know how to cook a ROM, you shouldn't be messing with this. This is way pre-alpha release software. Its not ready for the general public. That's why there isn't a ROM.

The general concept is that WM 6.5 is still in it's development stage. The leaked 6.5 (from what I have read) came from China, therefore, much of the information is written in a language that very few of us understand. The people that are working hard on developing this ROM to a status that can simply be flashed, are working very hard. They are having to go line by line in 7,000 to10,000+ files translating languages, and then having to go back again once everything is translated to tweak the ROM to work on devices that WM 6.5 was not meant for.

I for one, am not terminologically challenged by any means, but at the moment, I still have much to learn and am very thankful to those who are able to get in deep enough to essentially write an OS from scratch...which might actually be easier than all the translation and tweaking going on with 6.5.

Basically, unless you are to the required level to cook ROMs, create OEMs (not convert a CAB to an OEM, but actually sitting down and writing code and understanding the various forms of programing that are involved here), and properly translate from a language that is nearly impossible to correctly translate to English, and understand multi-national programing languages....Long and short, be patient. The Flashable ROM will come. And I can pretty much promise you it will not come from me, but if I see something that I think will help, I am going to put in my two cents. If it works, great. If my ideas don't work, that's great too...just one more way NOT to correct an issue.

It has been said: "I did not faill 10,000 times at making the light bulb, I simplu found 10,000 ways not to make one." It only takes once to get this right, but people are having to find out how not to do it before they release a ROM with their name on it .

Its really not worth messing with right now... Its laggy and buggy. Wait for a few more builds before we start posting finished ROMs.

Here is Con's Altell rom he was so kind enough share for QVGA/CDMA users to mess with, feel free to flash and play around with it.

forwarning... make sure you have an unclocked vogue/touch.
have backed up current setup you intend to return to after testing.
after flashing, be sure to soft reset your device after setting up device before letting customizations run , and install your carrier cab to gain access to the internet on your device.

Do fully understand that this is a pre-alpha release as others have mentioned above, and is not intended for daily use, unstable, and has many bugs at this stage. But do enjoy the new features if you so choose to
flash, thanks to Con. :thumbleft:

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Okay, I flashed the WM 6.5 again. I could not get the stock keyboard key to show, so I cheated. So far, since just after my last post when the link was posted, here's my list in order of completion:

ROM: WM 6.5 3.35.651.2 (Build 21159.5.0.0)
Radio: 3.42.50
Hardware Version: 0003
PRI Version: 2.03_002

-After flash, hard reset, QWERTY "R" then "Space"

-Screen Calibration

-No customization attempted to run, so I did not do a soft reset on this flash.

-Install DCD Verizon Carrier CAB

-Install GC Arcsoft 5.0.70.24 VZW CAB(from the link in my last post).

-Resco Keyboard Pro ARM CAB

-Test: SMS, MMS, Video Messages, MMS audio only, SMS to email, Picture message only, Picture message with audio. Send and receive on all. Success.

-ShadowTech_aGPS_Reg_Verizon CAB (Reg edits for aGPS)

-Soft Reset.

-RegEdit:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/ShowTitleBarClock="2" (String)

-Soft Reset.

-LiveSearch WM6 CAB.

-Live_No_IM_0_409 CAB.

-Set up Live email (Hotmail).

-Setup up Yahoo email.

-Test: Send and receive emails with attachments from both emails. Success.

-Setup Outlook Mobile. Test emails. Success.

-Peronalizer_2.0 CAB (RegEdit to change the carrier name...just because)

-Windows Media Player functions...at least as good as before.

-IE8 works well, I changed the options in the MMS as to the disconnect after receiving data. I chose not to have it auto disconnect.

-Touch scrolling works, ROM actually got faster as I went along. Be REALLY patient on the set up for Live/Hotmail email after installing the CAB. It looks like it freezes up, but just walk away. It goes through.

-Ringer works, stock Dialer works. *228 option 1 errors out, but phone still worked so I didn't call Verizon as directed. *228 option 2 went through as normal.

Things I would like to do and get assistance with if I can. Whom ever developed the Titanium Today Theme....I would like to see this in the dialer as well. Since wt functions over to the Programs/Setting honeycomb, I would think it is possible to use it for the dialer in the same manor. I will be testing the iContacts in a bit. I am also working to get the Firefox Portable (The one you install on a flash drive and take with you) functioning. Will be very time consuming, but I have found out how to do it...at least to replace IE5. I would also live to bump the Page Pool up a notch without having to cook, haven't seen it mentioned if this can be done without a kitchen, also haven't tried it. Also, look at the last picture "91%" memory. Gotta take care of that!

I will post screen shots after getting my 3 year old to bed. :thumbleft:

Only thing out of place when I reboot with Titanium active is the Messaging title and an X to close it, but everything else shows normal.

EDIT: Now I know what you are talking about....just tap the Power button on the side. The display turns off automatically. But you are probably running.

Yeah, the Resco Keyboard CAB is a trial. I wasn't going to buy it unless it worked. There are alot of skins available for that keyboard though, so since it works and enable the option between finger typing or our typical stylus, I will buy it next week. Resco.net is where I downloaded it from.

You might try looking over at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=404345 and see if anything works for you. You may have to go in and do some reg edits for the SMS because of your carrier. Or you may even register (if not already) and request GC14 to create a CAB for your carrier. I have read that they are having issues with the Alltell CAB for the SMS over there, but the Verizon CAB works great for me. I can't be of much help at this point for the stock keyboard or the SMS on your carrier....sorry.

Thanks very much for you effort. Con told that he will help for these two problem to fix. As I know, SMS problem is not related to softwares or carrier but the wm6.5 which I have ported to my one and only htc wizard. May be missing of files/reg/rgu.

Anyway, thanks again.....

Well, I throw the build on my hermes and the interface is much smoother scrolling through honeycomb. As on my Touch Pro it was extremely laggy and had to jump ship back to 20764 for now. On another note I found that my exchange and gmail oem was also causing issues when I cooked to the latest WM 6.5. It would not allow me to open my email. If I cooked a rom without the oem and manually created the email accounts I then could read my emails.

depends on what kitchen you are using. if using old ****ty kitchens, xip out must be inserted into the os.nb.payload, if using ppckitchen, you can just tell it what xip to insert during build
