ok, quick question.
In 23017, to get it to stay in the settings menu after an setting is closed you would use the shell32.exe from 21921.
could you use a shell32 from any newer 219xx builds? or would that be a non-booter?

Does anyone know how to make the for 23022 to be used in WM6.5 Emu Kitchen?
I have been trying to convert them but have not had too much success!:violent2:
Any help on how to do this would be great! :headbang:

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

After the rom is loaded on the phone, there are some contacts namely (#BAL, #PMT, #DATA, #MIN etc). How does one remove these contacts in the kitchen? I do not want to change the default contact application.

Also how do you prevent the welcome screen (alignment screen) after phone starts from a flash?

Does anyone know how to accomplish the two questions above. Thanks in advance

I addressed your issue here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=150

But to save you the time and hassle, here's the MSXIPKernel from 23022 attached.

With the packages that we would download from here, what do we need to do?
Thanks for you time!

k i would really like to learn how to port these new build myself. i have this,
Quote:

1.dump the 23022 folder from the rar file in ur \kitchen\sys
2.the using the XIP_PORT... bump the content of the xip.bin....
3.go inside the "out" folder that is created. Both folders (files + modules) contain files for "\ROM\Shared\23022\MSXIPKernel" folder and for "\ROM\Raphael\23022\OEMXIPKernel" folder of the kitchen! You need create both folders in it places and copy only needed for this folders files. The list of needed files we can see in the previous versions of the kitchen.
4.Now move new MSXIPKernel folder to \ROM\Shared\23022 and OEMXIPKernel folder to \ROM\Raphael\23022\
5. also, i copy new xip.bin to the \ROM\Raphael folder and replace existing one.
and ur good to go
but this does not make a bootable rom. im guessing there is more the needs to be done to make it work with cdma. can some one fill me in on the complete process of porting a rom from HERE to work with the touch pro in visual kitchen pleaaaaaaaaaaaase

in the system folder replace the .vm folder with one from a previous build that worked for you, and make sure you have the proper device xip ported.

It's pretty simple to actually just start your own. Download a new copy of 1.8.1 from here ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420

Create a folder called ROM in the root of the kitchen, create a subfolder called Herman and extract the contents of the payload file (attatched) in to that folder. That folder is also where you will create a folder for the XIP build number (i.e. 23017) and put the OEMXIPKernel folder and files for your device there.

Create another folder called Shared under ROM, and drop the MSXIPKernel folder and files for the build under a folder with the build number.

Create a folder called OEM in the root of the kitchen, then another called Herman, this is where you will drop the Common and 0409 OEM folders and files for the CDMA touch pro.

Of course, last but not least, populate your EXT\Shared and Herman folders with your own OEM stuffs.

Last but not least, get a copy of the RUU for the Touch pro and put it in a folder call RELEASE_Herman in the root of the kitchen.

See the attached txt file for the exact directory layout, also make sure that when you select the device, you choose HERMAN.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

After doing "osnbtool -ap xip.bin 14.0" to change the page pool, is there anything else I have to do with updated xip.bin (maybe copy to somewhere else) or other files in the kitchen? Or I am ok to build the rom?

From what I understand increasing the pagepool size will increase performance, but will also reduce the about memory or storage. I tried pagepool of 14, 16, 20, and there was no change to the amount of memory or storage.

Also I added the entry below to allow unsigned cab install without prompting, but when I flash the entry is reset to "0000101a"=dword:00000000. Any ideas?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies]
"0000101a"=dword:00000001

Thanks in advance.

Increasing PP size will reduce overall program memory. If that's not happening, then you are not changing the PP correctly.

I would suggest using the Visual Kitchen. You can set it to build whatever PP you want.

I believe this would be easier if the download for a new copy was available but the only download there seems to be for upgrade (just tools folder and exe) There's also a My Tools folder that I dont know what to do with.

Anyone else have another suggest to changing the page pool size? I have an Omnia and already have kitchen for it. I know can be done with osnbtool or XIPPort. I just do not know all the step.

Help... please.

When I tried to change PP with XIPPorterEX on an Omnia XIP for someone, I got a weird error I had never seen before -- something about no PP found on XIP. I remember that the PPchanger tool seemed to work, but I never heard if it really did work, or just smoke and mirrors. You can hex edit, but I suck at hex so no help there.

You don't really need to worry about the mytools folder, just leave it where it is. Also, there should be a link somewhere on that forum link for a full 1.6 kitchen. Unzip the full kitchen, then just overwrite it with all the 1.8.1 files.

Dump your device specific xip.bin, and move over the files and modules from msxipkernal to your dump (replacing the files and modules in the dump with the new ones), and rebuild xip.

You need to use version 2 of the i900executer. Didn't Adrynalyne put all of this in there for you?

Your question about the contacts can be fixed by editing the initflashfiles.dat in OEM_Lang_0409.

Remove the link to the welcome screen.

Directory("\Windows\StartUp"):-File("Welcome.lnk","\Windows\welcome.lnk")

Also, when you come in here remember to specify the phone that you are using as most here have HTC phones and will give you help thinking you have one too.

Thanks I already tried i900_executor, @ first it did not work 'cause the kitchen had version 1.5. Someone @ ppcgeeks told me to use version 2. I tried it and it did not work (no output file).
Then i got a download link from bgill55 with i900_executor 2 that had kitchen folder. I tried and it work. So the i900_executor uses the tools in the kitchen folder. And someone else already answered the question about removing the welcome.lnk to skip welcome screen and notice that that also fixed the contacts issue. Thanks.

Thanks alot =D>=D>=D>

Try adding it to a provxml instead, as something else (i.e. another rgu or provxml) may be changing it. Also, if you go provxml, name something like mxip_zzzzmine_100.provxml so it will be executed last.

WM6.5 23022 VGA Emulator Image

http://rapidshare.com/files/26515896...lator-image.7z

Use it as a base to play with Emulator 23022. Or insert your self attached xip to the rom image offset 0x00030000.

For dragging and dropping of the start menu icons, you need shell32.exe not gwes.exe. shell32.exe from 21928 working with of 23017.

Try welcome.exe from 23022 - it does not contain calibration process and it's twice smaller than one from 23017.
