Guys, i think its more of a feature from MS than a problem and personally i actually like this setup. :) and ya, it was present on 23007 too.

You know, I have never had an issue with it with ANY of these builds. I always have the battery icon on every screen. I use an OEM with some of tsowens icons for the taskbar so maybe there is a registry setting in it that fixes it. I've attached the whole PPCKitchen OEM (easily converted to visual kitchen), maybe it will help?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Yes MS is definitely changing the way the battery/taskbar works. If I open the phone the battery comes back in landscape, and stays in portrait until you open an app.

I wish there were more WM6.5 taskbar icons choices for QVGA...

Since I was done with the downloading and had tested the downloaded files by making a ROM out of it, I just thought of posting it for benefit of others. Plus i do posted the source of the files in the post itself, so anybody who downloaded it knows where to look in case of any trouble. But if its that bad of an idea, I will refrain from doing that in future.

no no i totally feel ya brotha, more just a joojoo pump up haha

nehow, 1) 23008 on my titan, eeeee aaaah rllly nice but crappy at the same time

2) i don't have the time to catch up in SSK land cuz i'm workin like a mexican american 14hrs a day.... but i "pimp" my bosses herman and i was wonderin if anyone would be so gracious to drop some short quick knowledge my way to speed me into cooking the best "coolest n latest" but most speedy n stabel rom. i wish i had one of own this would be done already. last night i cooked 23001 with SSK kitch because i miss the titan work n had a somewhat based knowledge from that. however, he was hatin on it hardcore. is the juicy 8 somethin713ish update as of yesterday the business neone? or correct me if i'm wrong, i can take the common n 196dpi's n dump both of them into teh SYS folder n cook with which ever SYS i like? no sure bout the translation between kitch methods.

Edit: or joojoo, could you hook it up with your added herman OEMs n list of what you thro in your personal roms everyday like project .txt copy. you using Rhodium in ppck i assume?? the one in SSK i cooked resets when entering all people of contacts tab....

also, to nip this in hte bud, if neone gets pissed about this being off topic please redirect me. although this problem is aimed at getting the most current WM6.5 hoping. yet official workable ROM that a busy lunatic boss will appreciate

I have never had this issue with any of the builds odd. BTW I do not have Display the clock on the title bar in all programs selected.

I don't use any Rhodium/Manilla stuff since Verizon deemed it necessary to cripple the RAM in the Touch Pro in their lineup. But here is the list of OEM's I am currently using in my own Ervius based Kitchen (I don't cook a whole lot with PPCK anymore):

Sorry guys, I have been out of the loop the last couple of weeks and these builds have been coming out so fast.

So is it worth using the newer 230xx builds or is it more worthwhile to try out 2192x with the finger-friendly menus? I've read about the Start Menu issues in 230xx but I guess you guys have already resolved them for VGA and QVGA.

I've been using 21234 for a month now and it's been rock solid on my Fuze.

The 219xx is not very usable in my opinion. Some menu items just can't be gotten to due to UI experimentation. But, the newer 230xx builds have some additional UI changes that make the OS more finger friendly that I think are worth it. So far, the 23009 seems to be vary stable for me too (memory leaks seemed to have gone down some, and I don't have all the weird moments where things totally stop responding for a minute like I was having).

The only downside to 230xx is the changes in gwes.exe made in 23003 and up that cause highlighted items to display garbage in some programs (i.e. Total Commander and dotFred Task Manfer are 2 that I use that have the issue). You can use an older version (i.e. 23001) for now, but what;s the point? gwes.exe is known for leaking RAM so using an older one won't get you any benefits that may be in a newer one. It could also bring some instability down the road and eventually may not even work all together. But, that's just my opinion as well. ;)

Not really, sorry. But have you tried using dotFred Task Manager or something and manually running epst.exe /diag?

Hello,

I don't know if this solution was told before.

Startmenu problem, it can be easily solved by using working shell32.exe. ( From 23008 would be better ). :)

No need to edit cpr files. I got it working 100% and I'm sure you all will get it working.

Best Regards

Good find, I haven't seen it posted yet, but as in my theory for why gwes.exe should not be replaced neither should shell32. I tried an older 21725 gwes.exe and shell32.exe (at different times) on a 218xx build, WinMo wouln't load the shell at all. These are probably only good as temporary fixes, but in the long run won't last. MS is doing quite a bit of work in these areas for the 6.5.1 release, I say roll with the punches. That's what we get for living on the bleeding edge. ](*,)

The only one I DON'T get is the compime.dll opera problem, I still use a compime.dll from 21731.

Ya, Compime.dll and its new password character system seems a bit odd to me too. I dont understand what good the new method do, apart from breaking older apps

just a quick thanks to all of you for making 6.5 releases to the chefs so we can enjoy them! I wouldn't go back to 6.1 for anything. I'd thank all of you, and I've thanked some of you before (wayy back in 21202?) but...THANKS :-D

Yep, replacing or using main files from older build isn't a good idea but we have to, until it gets fixed. Hopefully they working temporarily!

I have used gwes.exe from 23001 and shell32.exe from 23008. Everything is working fine. I haven't used compime.dll from 21731 coz I don't have onscreen keyboard problems in opera but I'm not sure. :)

For me, I had the problem in Opera 9.5 with ANY text box including the address bar. It was transposing the first few characters typed in. I haven't tried recently since I made the 21731 compime.dll into an OEM in my kitchen. It's always selected now.

So I thought my Start Menu issues were fixed but they are not. I have an issue with the bottom 26 pixels. They are not showing the image. I tried the fix of changing the top="-27" to top="0" but it does not work.

Any other ideas?

Here you go boys here the link that joojoobee666 post for me, Thanks joojoobee666 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411154 this is to a kitchen on xda:) download it, you need to replace TOOLS\G'Reloc.exe -doit -dump with Tools\WMRelocII.exe -gtemp\dump -lWMReloclog.txt in the 2C_RepackEmuROM.cmd file for it to work and put WMRelocII.exe in tools folder, download 6.5 emulator Here http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/d...displaylang=en and install on your PC look in program files and you'll find the *.bin files, dump your choice.bin with the emulator_kitchen, it will setup most of the kitchen up for you, dump again your.bin with my Extract_EMU and you will see that all the files are there now, dont know Y the package tool delete's oem.cert but it does, replace OEM & SYS in kitchen with the OEM & SYS dumped in my extractor and your good to go, As I said before the provxml files don't execute so if you find a fix for this please let us all know or post a working kitchen,

emu_extractor http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...9&d=1246127757

from the tests i'v done it works just like any kitchen, Just don't try to use any of it's OEM_**** folders on your device there a sort of "half PC half PPC mix" any oem's you put there to test are fine, The SYS folder is suppose to work and i'v seen some RTM builds around xda site, 21234_RTM

So boys how will be the first to fix IT

I think your provxml files are not set hidden and readonly, if you set them in dump like that it will execute.

Hi mate
Thanks for the reply, but i checked that a couple a days back:???:
I had this trouble with the first upload of "23001 shell folder" Da_G and got a reply to say it was a problem with permissions, and it was fixed now and new download worked fine,:) Don't know if he meant attribs or ?what? , But I'd swapped out, 23001_Shell folder, and used 21725_Shell and provxml's executed, and it caused no bugz for a day:mrgreen: then i replaced only Shell from Da_g's fixed download, So i'm sure it was something in shell on that Build though could be same cause with emulator, swapping shell hasn't worked 4 time's 21232 21202 21234 from a working rom, 21725 :( Strainge:scratch:
