Yeah I was kinda hoping Anryl (hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge) would have some insight on this cuz I know he had a 21501 kaiser build which ran opera fine but mines always been broken.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Ok thanks guys for the weather update. But how about finding the location code for your city? The following URL no longer works:

http://hadle.accu-weather.com/widget/hadle/city-find.asp?location=<your_city>

e.g.
http://hadle.accu-weather.com/widget/hadle/city-find.asp?location=Ottawa

EDIT: Found a way to do it:

1) Go to http://www.accuweather.com/rss-center.asp
2) Enter your city name for "Choose a Location" and press "Set"
3) Your city code should appear in the URL below

e.g. Ottawa, Ontario gets: NAM|CA|ON|OTTAWA

5 times? That sucks. I just said f*** it, I'll worry about it later. :drunken: At least we now know 21812 isn't the problem though.

I am having the same issue. Shows the icons before the first update and once it updates all icons are red X and no data appears.

EDIT: after looking at the two threads at XDA (Titanium Weather by Showanco and ports by mnemonique) they have some fixes there for it (in the last page of the threads).

I am going to try 21812 for my Titan, but was wondering if the keyboard problem that started in 21806 is fixed in 21812?

Thanks,
Jeff

ai6908- Will any version of Opera install on your 21812 kaiser build? Trying to narrow this down. Don't know if its just my kitchen or kaiser etc.
I've searched the forums and googled but all I can come up with is it works in some roms and not in others No reference to how anyone got it to run in their rom.

All I know is I have no issues with it. Possibly a problem with NetCF (which version r u using? I have used 3.5 and 3.7 with no prob) or needing to recmod a file.

I have tried 3.5 and 3.7 both :( and yeah it works fine on anyother cooks(same device as mine) i guess it might be some OEM but i can figure it out :( so thght to ask here :)

I tried, the new beta does the same thing, it just does it quicker and the splash screen that comes up before the freeze is much prettier.

Tell me the kind of problem ur having :) the not booting problem could be the XIP not SYS :)... on my device where the IPL/SPL and GSM version are shown, if tht screen dims out after some seconds means XIP is f9 problem might be in the OEM/SYS, if its bright all the time and device isnt booting it means problems in the XIP so u can see maybe the sames with your device :)

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

well it sticks at the initial splash screen (where the radio, protocol and rom version is shown) and doesnt dim. ive tried 2 diffrent xip's the one from the one you posted and the other from jojo, i guess i shouldve tried the 21806 xip first to rule it out. i assume its the sys only cause the last time it wouldnt startup at the same place it was because of it.

if it stops at first splash screen, it may be due to:

1- corrupted MSXIPkernel / or not properly inserted (ported)
2- wrong decompressor DLL (LZX or XPR)

I wouldn't blame SYS in the first instance (unless it's got wrong DPI or LANG folders)

BTW: SYS and XIP can belong to different builds ("hybrid" build)
Test your new SYS with a previously working XIP
That will help to streamline the possibilities

well, i tested using my previous working xip and no go.. i just found a diffrent sys and am about to try that

well this is usually because of XIP, but as u say it doesnt work with you old XIP too, so it might be the SYS :(

yeah sorry man, your last couple ones have been gems, but the last one i tried to insert the missing dpi folder's and i think that broke it, but i grabbed a new sys from a trinity kitchen and it booted right up.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

i have a question for everyone.. i had read that converting files to modules would allow those files to be accessd quicker (correct?), and i also heard that certain files in the sys shouldnt be converted or itll break the rom. is there any rule/guide as to what files can/cant be converted?

also im working with twopumpchump on figuring out and making a guide on which files for the kaiser can/cant be spinlock patched. any input?
Thanks!

Is possible to assign the opera to the internet tab in Chome?. I mean in the cooking process, no by the config programs.

You could make a package of Showaco's Opera plugin for Titanium but it's a bit of a mess as the installer injects the relevant XML into the cpr.

Thank You, I am DLing now. I guess I have been over reluctant to use other kitchens cuz I kinda grew up on ppcgeeks kitchen long before it was automated. I really wanted to know if the opera problem I was having was related to OEM or SYS or XIP or Kitchen. Im trying to learn from the process and prevent things like this from happening in the future but I guess I have been too rigid. Thanks again.
