Wow, thats not good. I was just thinking of what i have on my card. 5 avi movies (tropic thunder/dark knight/step brothers/day of the dead/diary of the dead) about 25 songs and about 100 pics of my wife and kids. The rest are programs like tomtom and other typical stuff. Outta 4gigs, i have 50mb free. I got real nerdy a little while ago, and used a stop watch on the kinoma scan time, and it averaged 11 seconds. It always ends on my "getspc" folder. i have no idea why.? I guess im just telling you what i have, to give ya an idea of what its working right with. But from what it sounds like from the kinoma guy, there's no real rhyme or reason to the horrible scanning issues (unless i missed an explanation?) hope they get it working for ya soon. dschoenike

That's bad, and with each update we're adding exceptions for sloppy Windows Mobile apps that are storing resources in places other than reserved application folders.

We need your help. Can you please contact our support folks, or email me personally at charles@ our domain with the full path to the application icons or other resources you're seeing? Just choose Media > Get Info from the menu pod and scroll down to Address.

Friday's update has workarounds for several apps, and we have another update coming our very soon -- the sooner I can get that info from you the better.

Kinoma Play is really a new type of app, and it's deceptively deep, so I recommend checking out the quick-start guide and this list of 101 Kinoma Play features and tips. There's also several reviews that go into quite a bit of depth about what makes Kinoma Play different.

Instead of giving us $20, Kinoma FreePlay is probably right for you. You can also get the full Kinoma Play for free by "checking out" with (i.e. taking advantage of an offer from) TrialPay.

Kinoma Play supports A2DP (Bluetooth audio streaming) if your phone does, so we'd love to know more.

(Kinoma Play doesn't yet support AVRCP, the Bluetooth remote control protocol.)

Re: Kinoma media player

I finally checked it out. this program is pretty nice. replaces a few progs i'm using and as we all know the least installed to the phone the better. for me it's replacing, tcpmp, pocket player, youtubeplay, and htc album.

one thing i wish it could do though is...like windows media player on the pc, have your whole mp3/wma/wav etc. library in one column...and as your browsing through, when u wanna hear a song 'next'...double click it and enqueue it as the 'next song to play' in your playlist. like creating a playlist as you go.

don't know of a ppc media app that could do this, but that would be pretty nice.

Re: Kinoma media player

I tried Kinoma freeplay about a week ago and was not impressed at all. UI seemed very clunky. It took a huge amount of program memory to run. It scanned everi image on my mogul and had no way to select folders to view organized images or music. I could go on and on about my dissapointment. It has a lot of promise with all the features it is trying to tackle, but seems a long way off in reaching even basic logical functionality.

I don't need that feature as I have a Slingbox, but I use ORB & have a TV tuner in my laptop & for some reason it works through IE but not through Kinoma.

~John
Sorry, I've never used that feature - I don't have a TV tuner in my PC. I can't get any channels OTA where I live so I never bothered.

What information do you need? I desperately want this to work, so I'm all for troubleshooting.

I'll give an example of how I use the phone. I get the phone and my Pioneer DEH-P7900BT head unit paired (the Pioneer supports both A2DP and AVRCP). Then, get a stream playing from Orb or the web played by either TCMP or Windows Media Player. I now get music played through my car stereo. Maybe that's the AVRCP magic? I have no idea.
