Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)
Do you think it will be an updated beta? I think they just accidently released the beta early to the public and when they caught on they took it down. I think it will be the same beta as this. But I guess you never know, I am hoping it is an updated beta with the memory and keyboard issues resolved.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)
It was not taken down, you can get to the official beta on the opera site, they just no longer let you directly link to the cab file as you must sign an embargo first.
Anyone who wants to download just go here: http://www.opera.com/press/reviews/mobile/ go here and type in your name then there will be a link to the official download with some instructions, and its the same link as was posted by the OP, just no more direct linking. |

this was taken from the review page, so it's meant for the media to review it, and I'm hoping to see a newer version on Thursday that fixes some of the issues (keyboard, memory). Last edited by pdx77; 07-15-2008 at 04:47 PM. |

Yeah the memory issue is really the dealbreaker for me. I don't care about the keyboard.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)
Seems to be running pretty smoothly on my Vogue. There are a few issues with the screen showing up... it seems like it was made for vga, and on qvga small borders are missing in some screens, but overall better than the old build I was running (1126)

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)
The Limit Paragraph function is more like the earlier versions. When zoomed in it won't allow further zooming like 1126 did. On some pages like Wikipedia the lines are formatted to the zoomed width when zoomed out. On some NY Times stories linked from the front page the limit paragraph won't work at all and requires scrolling across the line to read it. Mobile view takes care of that but it means having to change back and forth in the setup menu. It would be much easier if mobile view was a shortcut. In contrast build 1126 would reformat the page when zoomed in. Hopefully later beta versions will return to this. It wan't perfect but its advantages far outweighed its flaws. I'll check again on Thursday but for now I think it's back to 1126 for this and the keyboard issue. I didn't notice the memory issue as much but I disable the plug-ins which seems to help alot.

this is actually better then all of them for me. I am using 84% of my ram and it loads engadget perfectly. I am running No2Chems pre 7 with 10 mb Pagepool.
