Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

The issue with StarPlayr is not a technology issue, but a business issue due to Sirius' recent change to the Internet Radio Service and the "Terms of Service" preventing apps like StarPlayr from being sold. If there is a technology change, I'm sure the app could be quickly changed to adapt to the change. Since R-Capi doesn't work for Sirius XM, we'll have to wait and see if they make any changes on their side tomorrow.

Side Note: After talking to R-Capi last night, I agree with him, Sirius is making a MAJOR mistake by requiring Monthly users to pay $2.99 for Internet Radio. They will lose tons of customers!!!

I'm hoping I'll be paying less because of this. I have a lifetime with premium online upgrade. I called to cancel that yesterday since it will be free. Now the only question is if there is only a 128kb stream. The Sirius website is very vague about that:

"On March 11, 2009, we will upgrade the online listening experience to
near CD-quality digital audio. Satellite radio subscriptions will no
longer include internet radio at no charge.*
If you renew your subscription now, you will continue
to get online listening for FREE for the length of your subscription.
This is your chance to keep listening online at no charge.
After March 11th premium online listening will cost $2.99** per month"

Guess I'll find out in a few hours...

By the way, C-ApiSRO is working fine for me too =D>

if you renew your subscription (any subscription) online listening is grandfathered in (free) until your subscription expires. this includes lifetime.

Not working on our three Titans anymore. All three running v2.0.4 on Alltel.
Tried the on screen keyboard and the hard keyboard. Sirius reports that the CAPTCHA string is incorrect.
Can still use the player on their website, so the accounts are still good.

Still working for me. I'm getting 32kb though. Also tried Yahoo Widget and Sirius player. They all work and give me 32kb. Sirius website still gives the option to upgrade to Premium. I'm thinking they haven't made the switch yet.

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

The only reason that I have online (for now) is because I called to cancel and they offered me the $77 rate that will include online for a year. If they don't continue to offer me this deal year after year I'll be done. I only have XM these days for O&A and Ron and Fez

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

Has anyone been able to get this to work TODAY?

I cannot get it to login, keeps telling me that the CAPTCHA text does not match the image...

EDIT: I'm using Sirius.

Well, this sucks...

I got the message that StarPlayr would not work after 3/10.

Dang big business...

nah blame the iPhone users that had to brag on Howard that they were getting an iphone app. That app like this one and others had been around for a minute. All of a sudden Sirius accusies Starplayr/Nicemac of rebroadcasting the signal.

Or one of the developers (Dave from Geekstoolbox) who called into Stern and talked about it. I think they thought it was a done deal.
