It is also a full fleged TRIP COMPUTER with all the bells and whistles. |

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps
This app looks awesome! But I can't get it to work. It crashes on my HTC Touch with the new GPS ROM right after it tries to autoconfigure GPS.
GPSViewer and Google Maps both work 100%, whats with this app? |

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps
i am not sure geocaching will work with the new rom for the touch. as far as I know, it is not possible to disable static navigation and programs like GPS Tuner will lock up once you are not moving at a steady pace (like in a car)...I tried with a bluetooth receiver that could not be disabled and then tried again with my touch when I flashed to get GPS...
if I am wrong or anyone knows a solution, let me know. |

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps
I use BeeLineGPS for Geocaching. It is thin and light and works well. I like that the Waypoint Management lets me sort the waypoints by distance from my current location. Works well when we are out and need to find a cache to kill some time.
Here is a link: http://www.visualgps.net/BeeLineGPS/ K |

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps
it freezes b/c static navigation is not enabled with the gps chip itself. do you geocache with your mogul??

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps
Yes I geocache with Beeline on my Mogul regularly. I don't see any indication of static navigation being active on my mogul. Static Navigation is usually a sirf chipset feature... I hadn't seen it on the qualcomm chips in our phones.
