Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps

Any recommendations for software to monitor my speed, altitude, location and trace my steps when going driving, biking, hiking, etc? Hopefully it can be something to export KML files to later be analyzed using free software such as Google Earth or Google Maps.

Requirements

Pocket PC

Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6

16 MB free program memory

GPS Receiver (NMEA compatible)

It DOES take allot of memory to run.....I had to close ALL other running apps to get it to run on my old T-Mobile MDA(Wizard). But I have no problems on the Sprint Touch with all the RAM on that puppy. :)

I use this for GEOCACHING - and when I'm done I export my track into Google earth and you can se me going around in circles trying to find the cache. It is also a full fleged TRIP COMPUTER with all the bells and whistles.

This app looks awesome! But I can't get it to work. It crashes on my HTC Touch with the new GPS ROM right after it tries to autoconfigure GPS.

GPSViewer and Google Maps both work 100%, whats with this app?

i am not sure geocaching will work with the new rom for the touch. as far as I know, it is not possible to disable static navigation and programs like GPS Tuner will lock up once you are not moving at a steady pace (like in a car)...I tried with a bluetooth receiver that could not be disabled and then tried again with my touch when I flashed to get GPS...

if I am wrong or anyone knows a solution, let me know.

I use BeeLineGPS for Geocaching. It is thin and light and works well. I like that the Waypoint Management lets me sort the waypoints by distance from my current location. Works well when we are out and need to find a cache to kill some time.

Can you explain what it does when you are not moving? I haven't had issues on my Mogul.

it freezes b/c static navigation is not enabled with the gps chip itself. do you geocache with your mogul??

Re: Geocaching using GPS, tracing your steps

Yes I geocache with Beeline on my Mogul regularly. I don't see any indication of static navigation being active on my mogul. Static Navigation is usually a sirf chipset feature... I hadn't seen it on the qualcomm chips in our phones.
