One question, am I a total idiot or is there no way to turn off the annoying door/ringing noises for IMs and buddy list sign-ons/departures? I can't seem to find any option for turning those sounds off, and I don't want to actually turn the phone on silent because I prefer to hear my phone ring. I didn't see any option in the AIM program and there were no options in the WM sound settings for any of the AIM noises. I also checked the registry but there was no specific entry for sounds that was user-friendly -- just a couple of different generic named flag fields and whatnot that I didn't want to screw around with.

Am I missing something or is there some way we can mess with the preferences?
i don't have this installed yet but are the noises sound files somewhere in the install directory? can you try to rename them and see what happens?
