For any interested in getting the latest version, 2.0 is available here: http://info.aol.co.uk/aim/wince/index.html

I am guessing by the name of the original file in the OP's post that his/hers is a older version. I have downloaded and installed the 2.0 version on my 700WX so I can guarantee it works on that, from there you guys are on your own, I am still pretty new to having a decent WM phone. Meaning my last one was a SDA phone, wasn't all that happy.

many appologies then Jack, I simply assumed by the name of the file that it was an older version.

I got this to work without any problems on my XV6700. I'm using that WM6 ROM, though.

One question, am I a total idiot or is there no way to turn off the annoying door/ringing noises for IMs and buddy list sign-ons/departures? I can't seem to find any option for turning those sounds off, and I don't want to actually turn the phone on silent because I prefer to hear my phone ring. I didn't see any option in the AIM program and there were no options in the WM sound settings for any of the AIM noises. I also checked the registry but there was no specific entry for sounds that was user-friendly -- just a couple of different generic named flag fields and whatnot that I didn't want to screw around with.

Am I missing something or is there some way we can mess with the preferences?

thank you much, Jack... i shall try this out a bit later, and from what i read in this thread, this'll probably be the UK version, so there shouldn't be any problems with it at all... but i'll let you know how this goes in due time.

i don't have this installed yet but are the noises sound files somewhere in the install directory? can you try to rename them and see what happens?
