FYI, they have not "Zapped" this "Hack", it never worked properly to begin with as its a bandaid attempt to make it work. They are attempting to filter hardware at the server level using the authentication info handed over when the app fires up. This was thoroughly discussed in the other closed thread. I think we all appreciate the "never give up" spirit on this, but we all need to be patient until they make it officially available.

It has been communicated to me that Mogul as well as other handsets will see TV with a future ROM update. Sprint is not trying to "screw" anybody here, the STV service still has some issues they want to work out prior to release so that users get the best possible experience.

Dunno!

I am fortunate to meet with diff people at the carrier level regularly as one of our businesses is wireless technology based. I also spent the last 20 years in wireless so i have a history with a lot of my carrier counterparts.

Lets be honest though, these sites are well known. XDA for GSM and raw development, PPCGeeks for CDMA info, HowardForums etc. Some of our users are employees for Sprint, Verizon, Authorized Agents and so on meaning lots of potential exposure

In respect to STV the Touch is the first Sprint WM device with the Mobi powered STV app. The other versions i believe are a java based app and therefore work differently (non-WM devices). The touch was to be rolled out first, with other devices as per their individual product lifecycle.

So is anyone with the new rom able to get it to work? It worked at first with the new rom then now it wont at all. The only video I can get to play in stv is the welcome/help video that loads when you first open up the app. Replacing the current cache we have doesn't work anymore and there are some new channels and folders in the stv program so I think we need an updated cache.

Why doesnt someone just crack the Sprint App to send Touch hardware id or something. It's just a matter of time. The problem is the people with skills capable of re-engineering probably could care less. It doesnt have enough exposure. Maybe one of the PDA cracking groups will take a whack at it. They cant stop it... you can never stop piracy! THEY CANT STOP THAT PIRATE SIGNAL!!

On a more serious note, why the hell would Touch get it and Mogul doesnt? We paid more for our device anyway. It's horse shit. Way to dump on the already disgruntled Mogul owners, Sprint. You really have it figured out. Alienate your core power users... those are always the first to abandon and sinking ship. I wish to god a Sprint CEO was reading this now. This just makes me feel all that much better about whoring the hell out of my SERO.

Because, we aren't paying for it, so in reality we are stealing the service from them. They didn't ruin anything, if you really want Sprint TV get a Touch.

But MobiTV is also giving me an Invalid ID error message as well right now (Both Sprint TV and Mobitv)
