3 well it plays fine, but i get the song, but little da da da like little gap sounds when the song is downloading. I know this is so talking out of my ass but will cacheing a playlist with some sort of cap help a little? and keep our download levels down, since really unlimited is not really unlimited but 5 gigs is the tops.
I submitted suggestions about the playlist to the developers last week. They are planned improvements but gave no ETA. As for the stutter thing and cacheing, I don't have an answer for that. If you have tried redownloading the nanoGroove and reinstalling and it still does not work right, I would contact customer support. And yes, it is unfortunate that Verizon puts this cap on their data, I do not have that with my provider.

Their support is generally good about responding so I am surprised that you have not heard back. I know they have received a lot of emails recently so this may be why. I will see what I can find out for you. I see you worded the question as a hypothetical what if. So I assume an immediate response is not necessary. If I am wrong, let me know and I will get back to you as quickly as I can, otherwise I will wait and include this with a list of other items I will be sending them in a few days.

Re: The **Official** nanoGroove thread v1.03 released (1.29.10)

today when I was at work. I made a playlist so when I leave id get good reception. Once I did I played one song top song on playlist in player. I kept on getting song download errors. Pissed me off so I gave up. Took up a few mins but made me mad. I somewhat wish if I put a playlist in player since you know it can take forever since you are remakiing a playlist since its a list from your list, that the playlist I put in player can stay saved somehow as a mini playlist as in keeping in player to choose from when you start nano.

Re: The **Official** nanoGroove thread v1.03 released (1.29.10)

This thing's not in stereo is it?

I thought I'd noticed this earlier but didn't think much of it at the time. But this morning on the drive in I decided to listen to some Clapton and when 'Lay Down Sally' came on I noticed it seemed to be lacking the lead guitar track. Then when it got to the guitar solo (~1:50 mark) it was readily apparent that entire track wasn't there. I listened to roughly 40 seconds of nothing but the rhythm section. I thought maybe it was just a bad/different version uploaded to Grooveshark so I tried several others (all of the same landmark studio cut, but from different albums) and had the same result. Then when I got into the office I verified those tracks were in fact in stereo and worked just fine on my computer's speakers.

So essentially this thing is outputting mono sound to stereo? This isn't technically make or break for me as most modern songs are more evenly balanced and use the stereo effect more sparingly anyway. But it does take away a lot of the punch and depth from many songs (especially those from the mid-60/early-70s where they used stereo heavily for this effect.) I'm assuming this is a limitation of the underlying audio engine they're using for this?

I realize this isn't a developer-created thread, but is the closest thing we have to that channel and I assume they're no doubt monitoring it. I still think a 'play all' from the playlist menu and a 'shuffle' on the player should be the two top priorities for future updates. But this wouldn't be far behind IMO.

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it's related to nanoGroove or GrooveShark -- it's just an artifact of how the MP3 file was created in the first place. I have run across a few MP3 files in my day that exhibit this same problem -- I think it depends on the source material as well as the MP3 encoding settings. Since GrooveShark/nanoGroove often has multiple versions of the same song available, you might try looking for another version of "Lay Down Sally" to see if it exhibits the same problem.

I wondered what was going on -- thought maybe it was me. Anyone else had intermittent problems with nanoGroove over the last couple of weeks? Seems every time I want to show off the app, it starts up fine but returns an error when I try to search. (Today, of course, it just hangs on "Initializing" which I assume is because GrooveShark is down as well.)

I tried multiple versions, but will doublecheck once Grooveshark is working by setting up a playlist with files verified to be in stereo on my PC and then see how they output on nanoGroove.

I'm not really complaining for the record. I just want to see this app blossom into the truly killer app it has the potential to be. A few tweaks here or there and it could pretty much mitigate the need to have music on your device at all (if you're mostly in an area with 3G coverage.)

Re: The **Official** nanoGroove thread v1.03 released (1.29.10)

Well Grooveshark came back up and nanoGroove works fine. It was down for maintenance. Last time this happened nanogroove needed to be updated so I was simply giving a warning that there may be issues. I guess I should have been more clear. As for what is going on with lawsuit, I have been trying to find more information but have been unsuccessful. If anyone finds some more up to date information on these proceedings please post a link.

Re: The **Official** nanoGroove thread v1.03 released (1.29.10)

I am sure it has been said somewhere so i wanna say +1 to being able to have a random play. After (painstakingly) adding an entire playlist of mine then it would be nice to be able to play it back in random order.
