I thought I'd noticed this earlier but didn't think much of it at the time. So essentially this thing is outputting mono sound to stereo? This isn't technically make or break for me as most modern songs are more evenly balanced and use the stereo effect more sparingly anyway. But it does take away a lot of the punch and depth from many songs (especially those from the mid-60/early-70s where they used stereo heavily for this effect.) I'm assuming this is a limitation of the underlying audio engine they're using for this?

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it's related to nanoGroove or GrooveShark -- it's just an artifact of how the MP3 file was created in the first place. I have run across a few MP3 files in my day that exhibit this same problem -- I think it depends on the source material as well as the MP3 encoding settings. Since GrooveShark/nanoGroove often has multiple versions of the same song available, you might try looking for another version of "Lay Down Sally" to see if it exhibits the same problem.

I wondered what was going on -- thought maybe it was me.
Anyone else had intermittent problems with nanoGroove over the last couple of weeks? Seems every time I want to show off the app, it starts up fine but returns an error when I try to search. (Today, of course, it just hangs on "Initializing" which I assume is because GrooveShark is down as well.)
