my question, when does dashwire actually update the text messages, etc.. after the messages window is closed? if so, that could be my problem, cause I usually will leave the current conversation open.. or does it update everytime a message is sent/received..

I'm running touch on sprint

thanks in advance
Re you using any 3rd party SMS app? I have the situation where I freexe-up in mid-thread and lose a few SMS in the process, but if it has been long-enough, I can find most on DashWire. DW syncs (if your set to automatic) at every instance of things your set to sync...SMS, new pic, a call to log....basically as soon as you get something, it syncs.

Is calendar sync going to be integrated in Dashwire?
If I recall correctly this was mentioned during the last beta, and I think it is in the 'future plan' pile for now!! We can hope....(I think that would be easier to use that Outlook)!!

using the standard built in sms

I sent a test message, now it's been just over an hour and I manually sync'd and it's on dashwire, but I had to manually sync..

now, while I was typing this, my phone rang, I talked for about a minute, pulled dashwire website up and my phone call was already there..

but any sms sent/received hasn't been sent, one thing I guess I could do is see if it is sent after I get a phone call, but don't have 2 phones right now..

I wonder if you were still syncing as the call came in and it 'tagged-along' on the current sync (if that is possible) because if you sync manually, that shouldn't have happened as far as I know. I have mine set to auto (although it KILLS my battery) and sync is almost instant, but on manual....well you know!!!! I would try that again on your next call and see if it happens again!!

EDIT: Just read your new post...guess you did try it again LOL!!!

That is something I hope DashWire sees on here, maybe call logs are different that the rest of the sync items!!

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

I'm set to auto sync, and I have everything checked marked to sync, it was a good few minutes after I did the manual sync when my phone rang..

and to test I sent an sms to myself, waited a few minutes, checked screen to make sure it was not in the middle of a sync, checked website, nothing, waited a few more minutes, called voicemail, punched in passcode, then hung up, checked website and call and sms was sync'd

The fact that I'm struggling to come up with a good response should be indicative of the fact that we're DEFINITELY not smart enough for this. We'll stick to ringtones and stuff like that...

As long as you're in auto sync, the client is on, and is "connected and in sync," then text messaging should work as follows:
  • Messages sent from web site should instantly send out
  • Messages received on the phone should instantly upload
  • Messages sent from the phone don't upload to the web until after a manual sync
  • Messages sent from the web site don't get stored in the "sent items" folder of your phone
Based on my understanding of the thread though, you're having issues where the messages you receive on your phone aren't uploading to the web until a manual sync, correct?

If this is the case, then you're probably using some form of 6.1 build, and could benefit from our client fix release scheduled to launch any day now. If you're looking for early access, hit up our support alias and we'll fire it off to you. Fixes all sorts of 6.1 issues.

yes, using omj and wm6.1 on sprint touch, and no messages are sync'd, sent or rcvd until I do a manual sync, or the phone kicks the sync in.. it is up and running all the time and it is set to auto and set to sync all..

what is the support alias?

Well I tried to formulate a response given your far-fetched idea's, then decided that instead of struggling to amuse others that i had better ways to waste my time (for example: the work that's being neglected as we speak now) - given that, i also felt that my response would have been sub-par to the level of amusement required. So perhaps someone else can provide you this cheap thrill you seek, however i think i'll stick to 'real' issues/fixes and try to stay on topic within reason so that others may find this thread helpful and useful. Not just amusing
