Re: Would you still keep Google Maps app after installing Garmin Mobile XT?
For those that choose to operate your phones without Data Plans like me, Garmin XT is the best way to go. It can operate exactly like a standalone GPS, with no data plan required. Obviously the online stuff doesn't work, but it has POI's (Points of Interest) as a part of Maps so it will still find your local coffee shop or stuff around your current location.

Telenav for Sprint IS NOT FREE! There are alot of people that do not have the Sprint Navi service in their plans, so to avoid confusion, Sprints Telenav is not free for everyone.

Re: Would you still keep Google Maps app after installing Garmin Mobile XT?
I usually pull up google maps for a nearby business lookup becuase it is quicker for me. I used to use bing instead because it could lookup stuff and give real-time on route directions ("turn right in .7 miles") but the "new" bing was nerfed by microsoft and now it sucks. If i am ever trip planning or looking for a gas station gotta get out garmin though.

Re: Would you still keep Google Maps app after installing Garmin Mobile XT?
I like Garmin the most. To drag the map you first have to click on the car icon (your current location) then the map will jump to a top down north up dragable view. You can change the level of detail to include on the map. You can turn POI on and off and choose what size lable with the POI. It says turn right in 50 feet but can not speak the street name. You can send a text to a friend of a map showing your location. You can view photos people upload to google eatrh. Find sun set time and weather for any city. And Garmin can also search google if you cant find what you looking for in the garmin database (I use this a lot because my map is kind of outdated). Garmin can also sort by live fuel price. And show flight numbers and times. I dont like how many times I have to hit BACK to return to the map view. Garmin integrates and can access your contacts and show them on the map but there is much room for improvement with the integration of WM. It has a hard time importing the contacts address. I wish it could show a live dot on the map of my friends locations with out me having manually send the request location message over and over. (Peer point).

Re: Would you still keep Google Maps app after installing Garmin Mobile XT?
SInce some one revived this thread.
Garmin no longer supports the WM platform, to bad, I love Garmin Mobile XT, and I still use it, they told me they stopped supporting because they now have their Garmin phone, but they still support Black Berry, go figure! I am wondering if enough people contacted them requesting that they support WM if they would start again, I just can't imagine a company like Garmin abandoning all of us just to try and sell their phone, which is only available on AT&T, and T Mobile, if they knew how many people use WM, and are not with those two companies I wonder if they might rethink the whole deal. It appears that SprintNav ie Telenav have started using GoogleMaps as their database, that dissapoints me because where I live there are a LOT of mistakes with Google maps, and when they fix them, they don't really fix them, I have a business, they had the street wrong, and my business on that street, they finily kind of fixed that mistake, I am on 580 East, they had 580 east on the next street over, now they have 580 east where it is supposed to be, and 580 east on the next street over, and my business is still routed to the next street over, just can't imagine that, and there are other streets that are like that all over...that said I do use Google Maps for some things.
