Re: {{Manila Mod}}Co0kie's Home Tab v1.8.5{{19-Jun-2010}}

I have a question and I'm not sure if I'm being totally oblivious or if I'm missing anything but I installed this recently and I can't seem to access the title bar where the start button is. Usually when you click on it it shows the notifications window, but for some reason now it does nothing, or sometimes I get the old factory service bubble.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks

Also, whenever I enable the lock screen and the phone goes to sleep, when I turn it back on for whatever reason I get an error message about manilla. Does anyone know how to enable it so that I don't get error messages or it freezes? I disabled error message notifications, but when it freezes it's annoying. Thanks

Hi I have a little problem with calendar on Home Screen. I use this ROM http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86489
And my problem is:
When I click exactly on date header then launch HTC Calendar. But when I click on concrete appointment then launch regular calendar app. I would use only HTC Calendar app.
For sure I add pictures:
Home Screen

HTC Calendar
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6955/img7327.jpg
regular calendar
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6791/img7328gg.jpg

Thanks for advice!

Are you using stock or custom ROM? You might have a mismatch of CHT and CHT editor. You might want to uninstall all of them, then install the CHT to device and editor to card, I did that, it's OK to use.
For freezing problem, you might have to turn off the lock screen, but you can turn on the lock when sleep. It will show default lock screen. Some custom rom has CHT lock screen as default, so you won't see difference when turn off CHT lock screen in the editor, but the phone won't SOD. Amazing, right?
I'm using stock on my TP2 and the lock screen isn't CHT lock screen but it loads the lock screen quicker than CHT lock screen, I mean the one with weather.

CHT 2.0 has quite a few new features and a whole lot of optimization has been done on the code, from the ground up.
You can expect nice speed improvements and as I said, a lot of nice new features. You will know more about those features, very very soon. ;-)
There has long been a testing and development group for CHT and it has been pretty complete for some time now.
But as I said, CHT 2.0 and CHT Editor 2.0, are in close to final stages of testing now and will be available for public download very soon.
Hope that helps ease the wait just a little anyway.

I read over on xda that it might be within 24 hours... Cookie didn't really say what the changes are... So we will just have to wait and see...

Public Beta of 2.0 is coming guys. Hang in there. It would take more then a simple, single post to list all the changes and additions. Full changelog and general usage info will be posted at release, as usual.

I just have one little question. Will I be able to use all the same transparent cabs, or will you be putting out new ones? thanks again for the update...

Yes, the transparencies will still work just fine.
Though there may be a new item or two to add, as far as transparencies go.

Santod this thing is great so many things we can do trying to figure it all out.
Will the transparency .cabs still work properly or do we have to use new ones or does it already come with the options some were.
i.e. no background on clock

The same transparency cabs will work just fine.
Use the new CHTs that was just posted(look for thread here and XDA) if you want and you can back up your roms baseline, which will save your sense layout.
Then if you mess anything up, you can just revert back to your saved baseline and try again.

But the transparencies will all work just fine.

Santod, I have a problem in that I can not get the appointments to stay on the home screen. On the select home items page, I have selected the main clock as the compact flip clock and the appointments as date header. When I return to the home page it shows my clock and the appointments.

If I go to the CHT editor and select softkeys and turn off CHT softkeys, I get the proper clock, the bottom buttons and the slider, BUT no appointments are showing!

I am using the latest Energy ROM with 2.0 cooked in.

Help!

Go into your home editor and uncheck all items that aren't showing and then click done the go back into the home editor and recheck them and they should be there. This worked for me...

awesome update but theres a very strange problem i've come across.
i have hd mini lock screen on and checked lock on standby but it doesn't lock at all.

but after i turn the screen back on to check and see if the lock worked(which it didn't) i then try to push the start menu button, the phone button, or go in to the third button and try to go in to cht editor and it won't do anything.for some reason i have to lock the screen manually and unlock and it will go back to normal

edit: i was talking about the new softkeys but the hard keys for the phone and menu don't work during this time either

i'm gonna try and reinstall everything but found it strange

Any rom info you can provide is greatly appreciated. 6.1 Or 6.5? Installed after uninstalling Cht 1.8.5 or on a fresh rom install? Did you import old settings?

i like the look of free links more than the straight line of the quick link widget but am not willing to give up speed as the cost for looks. would using 4 free single links slow down the phone any more than 1 quicklink row of 4 icons?

No, although I do find that Contacts, as quicklinks have always slowed down the quicklink swiping. So, no, the free links have no more hit then a standard row.

Scheduler question, and I'm sure I'm just stupid, but how can I change the ringtone for different time profiles?

I'm using Sep 24 Energy with the beta cooked in, for what its worth.

I dont know if anyone else figured this out yet or not but I saw alot of people where having problems with the dialer coming up on a send key press.

Try removing you email widget from all of your home screens. Mine worked again once I did this.

Good luck!

The new Home Tab beta is REALLY impressive. It's smooth as hell and the new widgets are sweet! Thought I'd try and help with a few bug reports:
SYS 23138 & Manila 2.5.2019 (Core only)

- Worried = I removed the Messaging & Email Tabs and I am using 4 levels on 1 page. The gwes.exe memory usage skyrockets to nearly 45-50Mb.
- The Lockscreen seems to only activate the windows Lockscreen. Or it ALSO activates the WM lockscreen and then the CHT Lockscreen after.

It's still fun as hell to use, and it's only in Beta :)
If it's fixable, or you have any suggestions, I attached the REG I use in my Visual Kitchen.
