Not without LUA script editing, which is WAY above my head.

Update: Please read !!!

This will only work if you have a stock ROM that already has a carrier banner on it.

I am working on a work around, but it may take some time.

Re: Change your carrier logo banner!

If you are running a stock 6.1 manila, your logo is contained in \Windows\443d5315_manila. I'm guessing that Brent372's cab is replacing that file. (I haven't looked at the cab . . . Brent . . pls correct me if I am wrong.) If you don't have that file in \Windows, I'm guessing that Brent's cab won't work, at least for now. As Brent pointed out, if there is no file to replace, then it's probably not referenced by whatever is supposed to point at it (<<-- vague statement . . lol).

If you're running 6.5 (MightyROM, etc), there is no 443d5315_manila file, and simply adding it won't work. I think that the logo is coded in another manner. In THIS THREAD , jdmsleepr advised that he looked through 6.5's manila files and couldn't find the logo. (Post 584 and some others before it.) If you're looking for other logos, that thread is a good source.

It's gonna suck if someone can't figure this one out for Manila 2.5. I'm personally running 6.1, so I don't have a Manila 2.5 file set to look at, at least for now.

Re: Change your carrier logo banner!

Very well put, and you are correct about the manila file.

I have a test TP2 I am flashing with a MightyROM right now. I have also sent NRG (in XDA) a PM to see if he knows a "quick fix"

There a 3 types of manila files: graphics, XML and LUA scripts.
I am useless with LUA scripts, as it is way above my head.
I have, however, indentified a few key XML manila files that might be the key in figuring this out.

I am in the process of doing alot of XML edits, installing, rebooting, etc to see if anything works.

Give it time.. tougher things have been solved of these forums and XDA!

Re: Change your carrier logo banner!

UPDATE !!!!!

I have have a fix but need somebody to test.
Here is what I did. I compared alot of manila files between the VZW and (so far) the Telus TP2.

I found one file on the VZW TP2 that did not exist on the Telus TP2. It is a LUA script file

The file is 74ca4890_manila and the contents of it are:

require("common")
require("dynamic")
Dynamic_LoadImageOnNode(OperatorLogo, "\\Windows\\HTC\\Assets\\Images\\Home\\VGA\\operat or_logo.qtc", {X = 0, Y = 0, W = 1, H = 1}, nil, {width = 240, height = 60})
OperatorLogo._visible = true

I have packaged this file up into a CAB and uploaded it here.
Need somebody to test.

Instructions:
1. Stock Telus ROM please (others are welcome to test)
2. Install THIS CAB file - DO NOT REBOOT if prompted.
3. Install Banner replacement of your choice from my website
4. Reboot.

Post your results here please.

Re: Change your carrier logo banner!

I just upgraded to Verizon's 6.5 stock ROM. I was able to change the default logo just as I had been doing with 6.1.

So just to be clear, the issue isn't the version of the operating system that you're using, it's whether or not your ROM has 443d5315_manila in \Windows. If it does, you should be good-to-go. If it doesn't, you're screwed until brent372 gets his fix figured out.

Re: Change your carrier logo banner!

the easy way to tell if it will work right now is if you lready have a carrier logo banner then this will work. if you do not have one, it wont... but i am still waiting on new test results.
